Try Video Cutter. U can download the freeware directly from the internet. I think it's pretty easy to use. I've done it a couple of times to my video files, but Im not sure how to do it to DVD though.

EDIT: monchhichi, do u have Carnival of TRUE?

I was also able to open the file with Windows Media Player. Claus/Blade, were you able to get it to work?

I have a video card in my computer that the DVD player hooks up to that I used to rip that Hoshizora performance directly off of the DVD.

For *.avi files, I have used VirtualDub to extract a section out of the file.
