Just a suggestion, maybe next time you should consider this kind of award thing be done per season. Yes, that might be a hassle however it would give a fair chance to all dramas to get nominated, judged and voted. The actual award for dramas in Japan is done per-season (correct me if I'm wrong here). It was kind of unfair for other dramas and actors. maybe next time put the season in too, for winter season put the drama you voted and so on perhaps it might avoid the fanbased judgment. |
AGREE!! will start with the Winter Season... but you're right.. that's how they do it in Japan.. At least it levels the playing field given that there are almost around 25 doramas per season.. thanks for the suggestion Aka!

Don't forget the suggestion from ilovedrama, you really have to put criteria to judge a drama and actor too.
To be honest, this kind of voting is not easy to make and not all people watch all dramas too so the vote would end up unfair at the end. For example some ppl only watch drama because they have JE boys in it thus the result would be dominated by JE boys.
Maybe you should form a team of Jury who really watch dramas for objective reason and make a fix 5 nominees for the members to cast their vote.

Glad to know there are few other people like this out there.
Points to consider too when voting are:
2. Also consider the roles the actor/actress played. Was it challenging? Did it call out all possible range of emotions so that you can see the quality of the acting i.e. a guy who managed to cry a river is definately in a more demanding role then say a guy who keep humingyay whatever.
|
I totally agree. We should consider if the roles were challenging at all. To me, acting out as a disabled girl is much harder than acting as a happy girl.
But voting is still voting, and it's unavoidable that sm ppl will be biased. well I never knew what JE was until I finished NwP and was stunned by YamaPi's performance. So I guess it's still right to vote for him cuz he left a big impression in me after the drama ended

Ugh, per season???
It's bad enough to deal with this crap at the end of the year...

I'm just giving a suggestion not mandatorily has to be conducted.
So, if it's that crappy are we going to continue this ritual every year then?

i'm having a hard time choosing btwn YamaP and Ryo...who should get Best Supporting Actor and Best Performance.
could someone define those two catagories in more detail...
EX: supporting actor must have a varying range of acting skills//best performance: uniquely depicted in the dorama...???
or are those two catagories basically the same? |
Originally, the concept behind the best JE performance was to separate the best actor - best supporting actor nominees from the best JE performance to give the other actors a chance in the other two categories because I did forsee a slew of JE people hogging both categories. I created the best JE performance to avoid that, but to no avail. I guess I should have explained it better back then. My bad.
Given that, we're looking for the best actor among the JE actors who perfomed this year for the Best JE performance.
I hope I answered your question.

It was never my idea to have this awards thing in the first place...
IMHO, this is just another outlet for fangirls/fanboys to flood the forum with posts....

^^ I take responsibility for this. It wasn't BM's idea AT ALL. About continuing it as a ritual (as originally planned). Still up in the air.

it's their first time doing this.
littlemissfab and sawadasmile, you guys started this thing because you wanted to do something fun and intestesting..if you plan to do it next year..do it your own way..take the suggestions that you like. |
You're right. It was a poor choice of words on my part, and it was a good idea.
Gomen.
As with anything though, good ideas can get out of control without guidelines, supervision, etc....

True. I'd suspect the votes to be biased in one way or another due to the large number of dramas that were released.
