Niko2x: Hey, if u have a choice of dsl, check which one offers binary newsgroups. My dsl only offers text newsgroup so i dont have access to those alt.binaries.* where u can get japanese/anime series. If there's a provider that offers it, that's a better deal ^_^ _________________

Oh yeah, damn, it's too late already. I sign on for a yr using verizon yesterday. They said it'll take a week to activate account. But I'm fairly picky with what series I get, I'll get the stuff I want, not what everyone has. Thx for the lookout arney, about the virus protection as well. I'll go to that other thread to reply tomorrow b/c I'm still waiting for other's input. _________________

i've finished mahou tsukai ni taisetsu no koto and its good. Not much actions, its more of a drama-genre anime.
Nadia is good but a bit old so the animation is a bit dated. Havent finished the story yet, just the first half.
Super Gals is funny and I like the first eps. but its not one of those I would want to watch more than once.
Naruto is good, I like it but it might be a bit expensive to buy since its not yet licensed. R2 dvds are quite steep and no english subs.
Aside from Naruto, these arent really the ones I tend to collect. The ones I like to collect are of the action variety - Noir, Rahxephon, FMP, X, etc. Probably naruto when its licensed and if it comes in a nice artbox. _________________

FMP is one of the best...the first series that is...the second series is different. rahxephon reminded me a bit of evangelion...hmmm...
didn't like noir...caught a few episodes and could not catch my interest...
my harddisk just crashed... my downloaded animes are wiped out...slowly rebuilding it. but will watch full metal alchemist, tsukihime, read or die and prince of tennis...
macross zero is excellent...the only downside is that it is 5 instead of 3...so that means err...another one plus year to go...argh!!!
Watched another lovely Ghibli's movie, My Neighbors the Yamadas, last night. A very entertaining family movie about the unusual family of the Yamadas and their everyday life in the society. The story consists of the mini episodes which last 5-15 mins. The drawing style is very comical ("less detailed"), kinda unusual at the beginnig but as I watched further, my opinion changed toward the movie. At the end I liked the style.
Another great anime movie! *highly recommend*
Btw anyone got the ost?

Mine just crashed a few weeks ago too. A 120 gig 90% filled with animes, Western digital, all data lost

yeah, its scary.
i think the chances go up if u have ur hd on 24/7 like mine since hds can only last a certain number of hours (its the mtbf rating).
I got an 80gb that's like 2 yrs old already so i use that for temp and current downloads. That way, if it goes down, chances are the files i have there r still available on the net. _________________

ok i have you beat on this issue: 20 gig hard drive came with my comp about 3-4 years ago i leave my comp on 24/7 and still hasn't crashed
I never realized how little 20 gigs is until i stopped paying for shit and got dsl
Sorry to hear to about the incident. Got a 20GB HD as well, which has worked perfectly since the bought of the comp, another 80GB HD has served well for 1,5 years. My recommendation is avoid Maxtor and IBM HDs, they have stained their names at crashing cases back then. Seagate all the way
I just finished watching the anime Spiral ~Bond of Inference. Hai.. I have to say the first 24 episode was good, but the ending SUCKS! Had no ending at all. I thought the story was okay.. the characters are pretty cool. Pls.. if you're watching this anime, be prepared that there will be more questions than answers.
Use Fdisk or XP's disc management, haven't used em. The easiest way to split the HD is to install Partition Magic www.powerquest.com. Easy to manage and comprehend, a one button click does the split. You can copy, merge and split the partitions . Safest way to split the HD I'd say. *highly recommend*
