how bout' one of those mood rings....
if the girl wants a 10k ring, and demands it or else, then she can hit the high road alone, and buy it herself...

If you still want to meet with a pretty girl that likes you for your money, I suggest http://www.bb-chat.tv/ . I found it on a Japanese online store. No nakedness, but I guess it costs a few yen a minute. My kanji skills aren't good. Once your credit card is loaded, she won't even say to you sayonara. It'll be a clean break up. |
anything to avoid confrontation,

True.
True.
It took some convincing, that's for sure...
I suppose I could hock it, but I wouldn't know where and avoid getting ripped off.

For some reason I would think the next Ms. Right wouldn't want that ring, because of its history and/or baggage it caries.

anyone high maintenance is not good.....too much work and demanding....
but learning to cook, anyone can learn if they are willing to put out the effort and patience.

Thing is, how do you explain to someone that you happen to have this ring?

You don't. Silence is golden (no pun intended!...unless it's silver, in which case,....forget that comment).
Maybe it's just me, but I think $10,000 on a FINGER is an insane investment that goes beyond risky. For both partners, isn't $3,000 and below all right? I am too afraid to lose anything. Besides, like someone mentioned here, more than displaying one's commitment in a ring which doesn't do much, wouldn't it be grand to display it in a more and relationship-strengthening way by using it for travel, vacation, the home, or future investments together? That's real affection to me

I would guess at some point in time you'd get cornered into explaining the origins of the ring... You surely can't lie.

I agree wholeheartedly. But at that point in time, logic/pragmatism didn't take hold for some reason.
