Check out this Otaku's room. Caps taken from TV Champion King Of Figures ep 1-26-2006
This dude makes Densha's room look normal
ok, i thought that was a store in Akiba, not somebody's room. Otakuness...
i should take a photo of my display case of figurines, i kind of subsided a little of the collecting, due to budget reasons, sort of....but i have very little in comparison to that one dude with the pix.

Yea, I was also wondering what the song was that played while the baseball fan was running to where tiffany stayed? Anybody know, please respond, lol. The song is used mostly when they are chasing somebody, like when densha tries to see where the stalker photographer was. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I think you guys are talking about two different songs.
The one that roppongi04 was talking about, the one where the baseball fan is reunited with Sonim is Sea of Love (English Version) by Tsubaki. It also appeared in episode 9 after Aoyama left to the restaurant to talk to her mom.
The song that played when the baseball fan was running to Sonim is Romantic ga Tomaranai by C-C-B. You're right gbuster1a, it's also used in a lot of chase scenes in the series.
I'm not that familiar with Sonim, I do know that she is half Korean and her character in the Special is supposed to be Korean. But is her Japanese that choppy in real life? I've seen one of her music videos and an episode of Utaban she was on, but I don't remember it being like that.

Hi, this is my first post. And Densha Otoko is my first J-Drama. I have just seen the two last episodes (11 and 12), and I need to express what I feel...I feel very nostalgic. Densha Otoko has gained a part in my heart, a very special part. I have been crying during the last 30 minuts of the 11th episode...maybe its not the best drama ever, but for me is the most special, it has an unique magic which makes it special, it enters in your heart and touches it...I feel nostalgic for every moment i have lived seeing this drama, for every tear i have spilt, and for all the happy moments.
I need to write all this..and I should thank Atsushi Itou and Misaki Itou (Atsushi you are incredible, and Misaki, you have gained another special part in my heart), without them that wouldnt be the same...and thanks also to all the characters of the drama for being so charismatic and special, i will remember them all, and also to the real people who lived that love story...thanks to all.
And thanks for reading my post ^.^ I needed to express that to someone...and I thought that was the right place. I will remain in this forum cause i want to see more j doramas and discuss about them..so hello to all ^_^

I know what you mean. After I finished watching the drama and movie, I felt like I was going through Densha withdrawal. Like you said, I don't know what it is, there's just something about the story that makes it unique.
My advice is just that you get as much Densha as you can, watch the movie, listen to the soundtrack and if you haven't seen the Special, go watch that. There are some subtitled extras available at D-Addicts and the TV-Nihon (they fansubbed it, but I'm sure you know that) such as interviews and specials on the program.
And above all, you can always discuss the drama in forums like this.

This story began in this BBS called 2ch that was largest BBS in Japan.
2ch is character based BBS.
Usually user uses the software only for this site, but you can scan by ordinary browsers.
http://www.2ch.net/
( I donft recommend to postc., without understand of a lot of rules and customs )
There is chitchat in many categories.
And this category has chitchat for unmarried men as sub-category, and sub-category is called Ita that means board in Japanese.
This Ita has about 100 threads.
The Japanese word of Unmarried men in Japanese is gDokushin-danseih.
gDoku-otokoh is abbreviation and jargon of gDokushin-dansei Ɛgjh
means single and has same sound of poison .
gDoku-otokoh is spelled with a touch of self-derision like gŒj( poison men ) h here.
In one of threads, the posts by Densha Otoko was startedc..
Old thread that had 1000 replies were convert to another format.
Without purpose-built software for 2ch, we cannot read them.
But member of this Ita posts HTML format of those old threads on his website.
I also just started to watch Densha and complete the series last week. It's ttuly enjoyable. But one thing make me wonder: is the series Hermes found out Densha doing the BBS bout their relationship and got mad. How bout in the real scenario based on 2ch archieve?

warning : spoiler
Densha reported a lot of things to BBS.
But he kept her privacy basically.
She seemed to be patient to his consultation with his friends online.
He seemed to be quite a very Otaku actually, but she seemd to be not so nervous about it.
Nonfiction
Densha otoko as handle name.
Masher in the train, Benoist, Hermes, stalker, imposter,
sugoi Otaku, support by friends online etc.
Fiction
Sudden meeting at Comic market / real Hermes was on the journey????
Divorce of her parents
Episode of surfing
In my poor memory, about 20 threads were used for this session.
Each session had 1000 replies.
But I lack self-confidence nowc

I have only watched episodes 1 & 2 yet, and I am doubtful and puzzled so far.
I was interested in watching this dorama both because of the media buzz around it and because of the "Based-on-a-true-story" thing. But after watching the 2 first episodes, I can't imagine how in the real world such a beautiful/well-educated/classy woman would be interested for more than a split second in the Densha Otoko. Although I understand the exaggeration of the characters that suit a dorama, Atsushi Itoh is depicting such a nerd otaku that I'm surprised that the "Hermes" girl so easily accepts to have a dinner with him. I'm just afraid of being disappointed by if she falls in love too easily with him.
I haven't seen the Densha Otoko movie, but just looking at the screenshots, the 2 actors seem less extreme than in the Dorama - by their looks at least.
Then I looked for pictures of the "real" Densha otoko and Hermes girl, but I had to come to the conclusion that they probably don't exist.
- Anyway I will watch the following episodes, I just hope that I can make myself believe the story.

Good video (Densha otoko investigation). Interesting and fun too.
So there is really an Otaku look (I definitely vote for #85 ) and attitude, too ! (#28 by far the nerdiest). _________________
