Hi,
Has anyone seen this drama Sarariman Kintaro/ Salaryman Kintaro ? I like the anime series for this title and would like to watch the drama sereies sometimes in the future. Any recommendation for this title in Japanese drama, holpfully there are some good plots in this series in J drama. Thanks!!!
Heya! I wanted to help a friend out, she asked me for some jdramas recommendations, her perference: dramas about high school where there are bunch of hot guys, her exact words ^^;
I only been watching jdramas for about four months now so I couldn't think one on top of my head. I suggested Hana Dango, but she already saw that. Any suggestions?

If your friend doesn't mind watching a drama with buncha guys in speedos.....then Waterboys 1,2, and the special. I've only seen Waterboys 1 though.
Another one....probably Nobuta wa Produce, though mainly only two guys, not a bunch.
ummm.......Gokusen 1 and 2 i suppose _________________

There have been four seasons of Salaryman Kintaro. The first two seasons I thought were entertaining: funny, over-the-top, just enjoyable to watch. The third season was horrible; the fourth season wasn't as bad as the third, but very mediocre. There was also a TV movie which bridged the first and second seasons and was pretty crucial to the plot; directed by Takashi Miike of all people, it surprisingly remained true to the characteristics of seasons one and two.

Just finished watching Mona Lisa no Hohoemi (Mona Lisa's Smile), a 2000 series starring Yosuke Eguchi. I would recommend this dorama to those who want to see something different from the current spate of popular dramas. First of all, it doesn't take place in a school or large corporation, has no romantic multiple triangles, isn't littered with androgynous pop stars or cookie-cutter eye candy, and doesn't have every other scene taking place in a bar or restaurant. The series centers around a Tokyo auction house; the main plot thread has to do with finding the supposed second Mona Lisa (the "sad" Mona Lisa). Each episode also focuses on a different auction piece as well. The script is intelligent, the characters are interesting, and the acting is solid. Although it isn't a comedy, there is good dose of humor in many of the episodes. Eguchi is his usual charming self, and the rest of the cast, mostly recognizable character actors, is good too. There is one actress I haven't seen before--Riona Hazuki--and she is engaging as a young art restorer who has a hidden agenda. The one young pop star in the series, Junichi Okada, is cast against type, playing a banker (when he shows up at an auction wearing a tuxedo, he looks like he's about 14 years old). This is a good, interesting series.

I have the same preferences too. High school story with a little of romance though. However, I can't seem to get some of the titles mentioned in Malaysia. Have been scouting for Nobuta wa Produce for quite a long time.
Among my fav. are Waterboys 2, H2 and Stand Up. Have not watched GTO and Gokusen yet but I heard both titles are worth watching. Any other dramas that fits my preferences? _________________

I have seen the first season, which was good, and d/l'ed the second season....
i've been lagging on the third, but Kintaro is not a bad series, like it.

well, school j-dramas: Nobuta wo produce, Gokusen 1 and 2, Dragonzakura, Gachibaka, GTO(in my personal opinion the best, but came out back in '98). of course being a fanboy, i think the girls in those school j-dramas are hot. but for what it is worth, you might find those series entertaining, with good stories, and your hot guys will be in there.
