Maybe its a lag spike in the network on your side triky, is it still happening? |
only on a few occasions...as i mentioned in my original comment...i said it was only a "bit sluggish." i wasn't pointing any fingers or making accusations....
if somebody wants to come off with a holier than thou attitude with a total of three posts under their belt i think they need a attitude adjustment....my initial post was completely innocuous and devoid of slander or malilce.

I hope I wasn't being rude/angry/annoying/etc or anything as that was not my intent...
just as you pointed out that SnowBlower's comments weren't provoking, I was pointing out that Triky's comment was not worded as a complaint or, IMHO, worthy of registering solely for the purpose of saying it's not the servers problem...
or maybe im jealous because it takes me 2 seconds to load the page.
(yes, im trying to add levity)

My point is, SnowBlower was just stating his/her own loading speed, wasn't pointing any malice at you -- no need to get too defensive on that just because someone posts something that counters your observation.
Everyone has their rights to post their observations regardless of post count, we're just trying to get better server performance here.... |
fair enough..i am not trying to stifle his right to post why the attidude? when he accuses me of blaming my problems on someone else when there wasn't any implication whatsoever of such in my initial post i am not going to remain silent.
in fact i'm not the only one who thought his response was curious and unwarranted....at least two other members agree with me on that score.

Yes I did, when someone blames their own problems on someone else I think it's only natural to reply. |

Anyway, lets return to topic...
Currently only problem left is the system time. It registers 1 hour ahead of time for certain timezones, such as +8GMT. No solution to this yet... |
all i know is when i joined this board i wasn't making quips at people because it doesn't seem to be the best way to ingratiate oneself.
in any event, thanks for taking time to discuss it with me. it's old news.
thanks for taking time to remedy to the site's issues.

Do you have access to the server?
I remember seeing an option in Linux, where you can choose between Local Time (like in Windows) and GMT time. Both checks the time set in the BIOS. Local Time set it, in the BIOS and OS, for the current time zone and modify it for daylight saving, but GMT time set the time in the BIOS as GMT. The OS than shows the time with the specified time zone, but without changing the clock in the BIOS. If it's running Windows, you could always uncheck the "Auto change for daylight...".
If it's not a dedicated server, that could be a problem though. _________________

Not sure whether it might've been posted already... please excuse me if it has been.
Activation email doesn't seem to be sent upon registering. Waited for 1 Day now, also sent a mail to [email protected] - no response as of now though.
Triple checked whether I specified the right email address and tried the "resent activation mail" - but it kinda didn't work out.
Maybe an Admin could sent me that activation mail?
My account name is: `MHOOO`
Thanks,
MHOOO

Usually the problem is the message is tagged by spam filters and deleted or put in bulk folder, but in this case, it could be something else. Something that broke down when we changed the server. :headscratch: |
Well, all I can do is to assure you that its not in any spam filter ( triple checked that too :!) )

My guess is the email fonction is broke down. There was problem with it earlier this week and, in my case, I still have some problems with it. I'll have to wait for Genma's response, because I can't do more than that. I don't have access to these things.
Sorry. |
Err... don't worry, whereas I of course am filled with great anticipation towards my account activation, I think I'll just be able to keep myself entertained until an admin can help me :!)
Thanks for the fast action & response though :!)
bye bee~,
