With my superbly limited Japanese language, I have to say that
I LOVE THE FIRST EPISODE ^_____^
Yada Akiko tried to fit with her new job as Amami Yuki's assistant. It's quite funny when she tried to understand int'l affairs from newspaper. She even didn't know what ASEAN is, and if I'm not mistaken, she tried to recognize US president's name XP
Amami Yuki (Tsubaki) really fits her role. Not too cold as Matsushima in Bijyo, but still very strict and has "professional" aura within her.
Tanihara shosuke. Until now I cannot understand what's his relationship with Tsubaki. But I love Matsushima Nao and Matsuda Shota in here. For Nao, her role in here is quite different from Koi ni Ochitara. Her character is little bit "spoilt" and "sassy", but I still love to see her ^^ And Matsuda, ahh, chooo kakkoi.
The story itself is wuite same with before, how Amami Yuki tried to investigate high rate news.
But overall, avery worth dorama to watch.... at least for the 2nd episode ^^

Well, I was gonna sub this, but I didn't know it was going to be pure comedy... So going to be doing BusuKoi instead. Hopefully someone else will pick this up soon.
The first episode was very funny, but I can tell it's going to have shallow storylines. I don't think the writer for this show, which also did Saiyuuki, is very good. I mean, why was there 2 huge TVs turned on news at the wedding?

Yep, I've already started.
It's not confirmed yet, but it looks like Top Caster is gonna be 1b`@"Conclusion-per-episode format". Just like some anime, where the story doesn't connect except the first and the last episode like Gokusen, My Little Chef, Saiyuuki, and Yaoh. So you can't expect too much story from that.
I prefer 'connected' format, and I subbed Saiyuuki last season, so I really don't want to do this kind 2 in row. Top Caster is a lot of fun, so I'm gonna keep watching though

Oh yes, this ep was more enjoyable and a lot funnier then the first.

Yeah priceless scene. It's supposed to contain the 'smelliest food in the world and must never be opened'. Wonder what that is?

I initially wanted to get it b/c of Tamaki Hiroshi ^^ I saw him on Waratte Iitomo and thought, "wah, who is this cute guy" |
Tamaki Hiroshi's totally cute and happy go lucky here unlike his rather melancholic character in Last Christmas. He's also speaking in a queer nasal voice in Top Caster.

From Yomiuri this week:
Yuki Amami turned to TV after a successful career and years of hard training with the Takarazuka Revue Company. That experience and discipline have allowed her to develop into one of the most capable actors on the small screen.
She says her hobby is watching television news programs. So perhaps it is only natural she is giving a strong performance in the new Fuji TV drama Topcaster (Mondays, 9 p.m.). She plays Haruka Tsubaki, a top newscaster who for some mysterious reason was banished from the news desk at the mythical CNB network several years ago. Now she has been brought back by news director Shibata (Kiyoshi Kodama) to anchor a revitalized news program.
Kodama and Amami lend some gravity to what is otherwise your usual "behind-the-scenes-in-the-broadcasting-studio" drama. The major difference here is that Tsubaki, a cool, tough, hard-hitting newshound, has selected Asuka (Akiko Yada), the "weather girl," to be her new assistant. She chooses her because she looks like a cool but rather blank slate, someone she can train in the business. She will have her work cut out for her. Asuka admits she doesn't know what ASEAN means and can't remember the name of the U.S. president: "It's Clin...Bu...Bulinton!" Well, whatever.
The dialogue is noisy, quick-paced and none too deep, but as this quarter goes, it is one of the better bets. One star for Amami, who is a top star. The rest of newsroom staff at Topcaster are the usual stereotypes--several capable guys content to be mediocre and a programming director who wants to call the show News De Gogo. Typically, he is having an affair with a roving reporter. Only, in this new age of reality dramas, we have to listen to him complain about his hemorrhoids too.
