went to Ajisen Ramen today for lunch
service wasn't bad but you should hear those cantonese waiters/waitresses yell out 'sumimasen' and 'arigatou' every once in a while - they sorta vary their pronounciations every time they say it, lol
the food was oishii! i had the spicy BBQ pork ramen and it was pretty spicy for me but definitely worth it - $6.75 Cdn for a bowl
hey so you finally went, huh? that's great! i'm glad my recommendation proved worthy of a visit....tasty AND cheap!

Surely, that does look delicious, nonetheless. **Nods**
If you ever go out in the international marketplace, I recommend people trying out the Melona Bars produced by Binggrae for sale. It's a definite top-notch treat for melon lovers [and the not so-melon lovers] all over the world.

I guess I should watch what I eat and what I buy too. I thought I was buying Japanese rice: a white bag, red dot, kanji with a Japanese name (kokuho) from Koda farms. The thing is, Koda farms is located in California.
Also bougth miso-damari aka tamari for about 1$ a teaspoon.
its like when i buy japanese beer, and find out it's brewed in canada.

I see you are as lucky as me in finding a Japanese restaurant with a Japanese staff. At least they're trying, unlike the Pakistani sushi restaurant I went last month.
I can't believe it's that cheap. I'll check it out next time I'm in the area.

Tampopo left the Mituswa food market a year or so ago, then arrived at Marukai food court. Recently it got replaced with another noodle place, now there is no Tampopo here in OC, gotta go to LA for that, but i rather head to Daikokuya if i am in LA/Little Tokyo area.

pakistani sushi chief? that's gotta be interesting.
It was kind of funny. I'm used to going in Japanese restaurant where everybody speaks Mandarin or English. It was the 1st time I had a full arabic staff in a sushi place.
Maybe they decided to change their restaurant to sushi.... _________________

wow, there's many korean establishments that serve sushi in los angeles...but i will admit, with respect, they aren't as good as the establishments that are japanese owned with japanese sushi chefs behind the counter. kinda makes sense i guess...i won't be going to any chinese owned taco stands any time soon.
