don't forget the GTO special episode with Nana Katase as one of the main characters, and the GTO movie, with Rena Takana.

yep yep, can't forget those , tho i felt the special and the movie's pacing were sorta different from the main series.

The reason why I got into GTO the live action is because I impulsly bought the GTO movie at sam goody's because they were closeing. I thought to myself "I should probably check the series out before watching the movie" but it looks like the movie and the series are totally un-related, which kinda bums me because I really like the series right now, I'm about half way through it.

Yup. To me it was very well done.

Just a warning. If you're hoping for it to be something like the anime, then you'll be disappointed there. The Drama made some of the storyline different from the anime, which is why its so great because they did so well and yet able to show the Onizuka that was shown in the anime and the manga

I bought the movie before watching the Drama.....but then again, I saw the anime before seeing the movie. In the end, I thought the movie was the worst out of all the GTO stuff. The story sucked, Sorimachi and Tanaka Rena couldn't keep this one alive, the story sucked that much IMHO.

If you want to collect everything GTO, then yea, buy the movie. Other then that, you're not missing much. If you're a Tanaka Rena fan, I suggest you watch the movie. She was pretty cute in it.

It's an OK movie, i just have it to keep my collection complete, but yeah, as KT said, the drama special and the movie just don't flow as well as the series itself - storylines feel a bit weaker and not as well thought out.

I just finished watching this drama. I must say, it amased me. I didn't read the manga nor I watched the animé. But it was a great story (only the special and the movie was kind of crap). I really loved the episode which was about Tomoko. She was so cute and she also made me cry. A shame she isn't in other drama's though. Also, I love the themesong very much of GTO. It's like on and on every time now. xD

Again, another drama learned me some valuable lessons which we should use in our life's.

You are right. I tried to watch the anime, but I stopped at the half. I didn't like it.
