I also experienced that problem yesterday. But it's ok now. I just followed K.T.Tran's instruction, which is to disable the html in your post. You can do that by selecting "no" for "always allow html" in your profile or just check the "disable HTML in this post" box at the bottom of the message body when you make a post.

PostPosted: Mon May 29, 2006 2:46 pm    Post subject: Helicopter Pilot Reply with quote Back to top

Hey Guys,

I attended a seminar last week about helicopter pilots and after that I was interested in getting into the field.

I was wondering if you know anybody or yourself have any experience in helicopters.

I'm attending ground school next month and if that goes well I'll be changing my career.

The only problem is the cost, it'll cost me an arm and a leg Shameful Cry

Have a great memorial weekend!

P.S. I've posted this in other forums so I can get more feedback. w00t!

Any Real Estate Agents here?

I was thinking of becoming a real estate agent while trying to paid for the helicopter pilot training program.

I'm still not sure if I wanna become a heli pilot, the other career choice that I had in mind would be CGI or special effects.

I know that it's more of a supply than demand since the market has slowed down.
It's going to be hard getting into the field with so many people becoming agents every yr.

What's the salary range of real estate agents?

How would I go about talking to experience agents in my city and get their advise?

Do I just open the yellow pages and just start askings questions?

I've also posted this on the d-addicts forum just to get more feedback.

Competition is very fierce in the real estate market. As you've mentioned, with so many people obtaining their salesman licenses and all.
Not sure of the market status where you're from, however in Hawaii, I'd say if people got their license now with dreams of making big bucks, they missed the boat already.
Salary range of agents depends on YOU. It's a commission based position with no base salary. What and how much (properties) you sell determines how much money you will make. Oh yeah, not to mention that you will have to pay the MLS fees to your brokerage firm every month. And if you wish to have medical insurance coverage, you'll have to pay that out of pocket as well too.

Becoming a real estate agent is easy. Check out your local newspapers. There should be some real estate school ads. Depending on the state you live in, the class hour requirements differ. In Hawaii, I believe as of Jan 01, 2006 the hour requirements are 60 hours of class time. I think Texas has 100+ hours of class time requirement.
Basically, you pay the tuition fee for the school and attend every session. At the end of the class, you will have to pass a test. After you pass the test, you'll get a certificate of completion. With that certificate of completion, you are now able to take the state examination. (In Hawaii, the certificate of completion is valid for 2 years).

After you pass the state examination, you will have the choice to keep your license 'active' or 'inactive' ('on ice'). If you choose to keep your license in an active state, you will have to hook it up with some brokerage. You cannot have an active license that is not hooked up with a brokerage.

Check around for your choices of brokerage firms. Some offer a better commission scale than others.

Getting your license is easy. Making a living off of it is a different story.

Good luck.
