Since you want to be unbelievably critical about such a poor show, why don't you go ahead and die then....this dorama f*ckin' sucks....i agree you can't even begin to compare this dorama to GTO....please....Gal Circle has some of the worst acting ever, an absolutely vacant plot, and is devoid of any laudable themes making it one of the worst shows of ALL time in Japanese television history. This show is an embarassment for Toda Erika.
How can you plausibly extract moral direction from this show (despite the parables in each episode)...with these ridiculously air-headed females....who kiss each others ass and gravel unabashedly vying for attention....
a comedy it is, yes a weak one, but don't compare it to a show with talented actors and much more poise....nobody in their right mind would compare GTO to Gal Circle....
moreover, this show has one of the LOWEST ratings this season...proving it's not even popular in Japan.

i think that Gal Circle is not extremely terrible, and Erika's acting...well she has had a better role and was more presentable in Engine, which i am watching now and it is very good. Gal Circle does lack in many areas, and it is....different, but i don't hate it, everyone has their own opinions, but this j-drama, i am d/l'ing and watching, but by far it is not that good, it is ok, and it is funny. I think the acting is...well, there have been better roles, and the ratings kind of tell how people like it.
However, GTO, i would say it is a great classic j-drama, and one of my favorites, so...to make the comparison, would be unfair.

as you say opinions are opinions but comparing a dorama that garnered a 35.7% share to a dorama that's barely breaking 10% is laughable. I still think Erika Toda's role is a joke...it isn't too hard to act like an idiot and wave your hands around in a vain attempt to be para parathetic ....
i find certain elements funny but it doesn't redeem the corporate effort, really. given the fact that doramas are probably genereally aimed at woman it's rather telling that this dorama has such a low rating despite the fact that it's aimed at young women.....in any event i'm glad you're enjoying it i guess..
but as you alluded it's difficult to say this is the BEST dorama of the season.

lol....yeah, this j-drama is quite low...and it's hard to get into...the plot is rather....inconsistant...and the characters are laughable...
I thought they could have made Erika's character with more depth, but the storyline would defintely need to change.
yeah, 10% is a laughable pathetic rating, but sometimes i think it is BS, cause Teru Teru has near low ratings too, and doesn't seem fair cause that is a good j-drama...

yeah but i thought we agreed the reason that Teru has such low ratings is because it airs on Friday nights...what's Gal Circle's excuse...it is not good!
Com'on bro...there IS NO PLOT in Gal Circle...it's just a vehicle for humor

I was hoping that this drama would capitalize on it's comedic potentials but apparently it fails miserably. As for funny & inspiring, been there seen those in so many many shows already that it's not even original anymore to have inspiring messages. Was hoping this show would succeed too so that I would've something to watch this season. Now it's down to Kurosagi, IWGP, & StandUp!
On another note how is Top Caster, Busu, Oishii Purpozu, Tokumei! Kenji Don Kame? Worth a watch or should I pass?

Oh man. How many episodes that you actually watched in this drama. I think you stop at 3 or something. And the worst thing is, you think rating determined how good the drama is? Man, that's a joke. GTO is laughable, Long Vacation is so boring, Good Luck and Pride is too overrated, Orange Days - I stop at 8 cause the story drag like a snail with broken heel. The rating is high most likely because of the actor or actress, not because how good the story is. And yeah, I fully watched all the drama above except Orange Days(stop at 8) and Long Vacation(stop at the second last epissode - I don't want to torture myself for 1 more hour anyway).
My point is, if you don't like it. Just shut your mouth up. There's a people who might enjoy it. I don't go to every single drama thread that i hate and talk bad about it.
If you got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.
