rdoll, not to be picking sides or anything, but plz don't let a couple of post be a determiner of whether to return to the forum or not. I have no opinion of the drama you guys are talking about b/c i haven't seen it, but i also think that you do have some insight on whatever you are talking about (again, it doesn't matter what i think).

Tu_tricky and krim are avid jdorama-ers and as such all of you have strong opinions of various dramas which is a good thing, but that doesn't mean that you all are going to agree ALL the time, which makes this place a good place to formulate an opinion on a drama you want to potentially watch. I guess you guys are just going to have to "agree to disagree" on the content of drama.

(BTW i think the last sentence you want to say is urusai...)

the second somebody descends into ad hominem attacks i'm not going to take that shiet...i focused on the show and not on the person...until now.
if this person needs to repeatedly resort to personal insults to make a point, they better hell be ready to take a few in return....this person is obviously incapable of making a cogent argument which passes muster....the argument if i even daresay call it that...is full of platitudes and jargon (as krim said).

????? Seems like you don't understand what "character development" means. Man, arguing with someone who has no experience on writing is not easy. Click this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_development if you want to know what 'character development' means. But I don't think you are intelligent enough to understand what it says, anyway. And judging from the example that you gave, I think it useless to continue this conversation anymore. You don't understand about the meaning of words plot, character development, theme, culture reference or anything related to a drama or movie. It's like talking to 7 years old boy who thinks that Santa is exist.

Anyway, this is my last post. 4 post is more than enough to me. If you want to continue talking shit about this drama, who cares. It's not like anyone who will take seriously an opinion from someone who didn't even know what character development means.

One last word. Anata wa Uzai...... Shinu.

Listen, 'character development' is NOT having two-dimensional 'characters' virtually defined by a single flaw/identity issue, and then having that issue resolved in the space of a single episode, primarily by them being in a big square hole overnight.

hallelujah...yet another enlightened member of the human race has chimed in....thank you for your incisive commentary. Bow and i don't say this lightly or merely because i agree with you...but because you have made an excellent point, supported by one of many glaring examples which illustrates your argument.

jeez, I dont get the fuzz over this.. I mean is that kinda arguing really worth of your time and words..? But anyways, even though this dorama is kinda stupid, the girls are annoying and some are too thin and that Emi or whoever the "leader" is ugly, I still have fun watching. Maybe its the stupidness of this drama that makes me laugh, I dun really know wut it is myself hehe

I still have to admit that the reason I watch this dorama is Fujiki Naohito. Hes doing great job acting out that kinda character. I mean that kinda role, for and actor like him, needs practicing.

Oh and I like the theme song Mr Green

com'on centurylover...the real reason you like the show is because you use it to practice your para para dance moves, right? just kidding Beaten

i openly admitted my criticism of the show and didn't deride anyone for watching it....there was no "fuss" until someone came out and told me to shut up for criticizing the show.....and then when i elucidated an argument they extoll the virtues of "character development" like this was "Catcher in the Rye" written by J.D. Salinger or something...gimme a fugign' break.

And i'm an writer too, which makes my opinion doubly right. hehe

The funny thing is, I keep on watching the damn show - partly because of the eye-candy, and partly because watching a bad show and criticising it can sometimes be almost as much fun as watching a good show.

LOL. nice. that's cool i'm glad you are deriving some value from the show, as it were. i can understand your sentiment and rationale for watching which is compelling from the viewpoint of the inquisitive or curious among us. notwithstanding the generally poor exercise in thought represented by the show i, too, found some entertainment value albeit not much.

it certainly wasn't the virtuousity of the character development.

What? I've never seen that actress before, but she definitely left a positive impression - or maybe i've just been bewitched by those legs of hers.

Quick, someone rustle up a few screencaps so we can settle this burning issue once and for all!

EDIT - Yeah, I just took a look at her thread in the artiste's forum, and you're wrong. Smile

Oh don't get me wrong, all your complaints about the show are right on the money. I'm just a big fan of 'so-bad-it's-good' TV. Then again, this show is in serious danger of going from bad, to good, all the way back to bad again. hehe

Beaten your dizzying logic is compelling.... Bonk

as far as the leader is concerned...her name is emi suzuki...i think she has an attractive face but like Toda, she too needs to gain some weight....by the way, emi suzuki is part chinese/part japanese.

some of her commercials are up on youtube.

Thanks for the info - just took a look at a few CM's, and she's definitely pretty - and not in a cute girlish way, but in a wow-look-at-those-legs womanly way. She might be a bit on the thin side, but it suits her a little better than it does Toda (who looked super-great in Engine/Nobuta BTW). So yeah, thumbs up for Emi.

you're welcome. yeah i saw a few of the commercials...she was obviously a model prior to her forray into acting. i agree with you again...i think Toda looked much more attractive in Engine and Nobuta...she looks down right boney (?sp) her face looks sunken & devoid of the graceful lines that were present earlier.

Tu, i think in situations like that, i can understand your point of view, people have a right to their opinions, such as your opinions...
the thing we all have to realize and acknowledge is respect for one another even in cyber space....and if someone crosses the line and offends another, the line has been crossed...
the best way, is to put this behind, and ignore such comments and people. This thread/forum does not need such negativity. This is a place where opinions, expression, and information, and humor is exchanged like in any community/society. Let's keep this a fun place.
and if you think this j-drama is wacked, and uncool, and whatevers, i am cool with that, cause from what i have seen, i don't dislike it, but i don't think it is great either, just different in a wacked sort of way. lol we can agree on that, maybe. Applaud
peace out yo. Nut Thumbsup

i agree with you...i never tried to shut down the person from expressing their opinion but i am not partial to somebody telling someone to shut up just because of a personal disagreement on a matter and making repeated insults which i refrained from in my posts until the end. that's uncalled for.

that's different form having a disagreement about something and leaving it at that.

for example, you might like a certain celebrity or whatever and i might detest that person but do i ever descend into a personal attack on the matter? there's no excuse for that. you don't see me saying, "you're an asshole for liking this or that?"

when i elevated my discussion to have a serious debate on the merits and the person resorts to insults i am not going to just take it in the proverbial ass....

i am not kid i don't expect to be treated like one.

i can appreciate that comment...well if you go practice your para para dance moves next to her...don't bump her accidentally...she might break because she's so thin Sweat

All I say is that we should be able to criticize the shows in any way we want. It is up to the reader to decide whether he/she should listen to the criticism or just ignore it.

i have reconsidered, i say we only say that we love every show we've seen because that makes much more sense.

Wow, I have been away from this thread for so long that I didn't realize how crazy things got. Well, I hope it's all resolved now and peace is restored once again. Big Grin
