Leaving her provincial home, teenage Mutsuko arrives in Tokyo by train to take a job in a major automotive company but finds that she is employed by a small auto repair shop owned by Norifumi Suzuki. Suzuki's hair-trigger temper is held somewhat in check by the motherly instincts of his wife, Tomoe, and his young son Ippei immediately bonds with Mutsuko as if she were his older sister. The Suzuki shop lies almost in the shadow of the Tokyo Tower as it rises steadily above the skyline during construction in 1958. Others in the neighborhood also are striving to better themselves as Japan continues to emerge from the shadow of war. Hiromi has just abandoned her shady life as a dancer to start a sake bar. Abandoned by his single mother, young Junnosuke is first handed off to Hiromi but she passes him off to Ryunosuke Chagawa, a struggling writer who runs a candy shop and only manages to sell adventure stories for boys as his serious novels continue to be rejected. Junnosuke is an avid reader of Chagawa's stories and begins to idolize him upon learning about his authorship. Junnosuke also writes stories, and makes friends with Ippei and others when they discover his tales that show Japan in the hi-tech future of the 21st century.

Well, according to the director of Always, Takashi Yamazaki at Hoga Central, Koyuki has nothing to be ashamed of for not getting the best actress award. He said, she lost to an outstanding veteran actress & they (the cast of Always) knew that Koyuki would not win it when the actress was also nominated. In the interview, it seemed that he handpicked Koyuki after being impressed with her acting skills when he came to observe the filming of The Last Samurai. He was earlier very skeptical of Koyuki's acting ability because of her modeling background but when he saw how she managed to transform herself to become a Meiji era woman, he was then very sure that she can easily potray a showa era (the name given to the reign of the particular Japanese Emperor after the 2nd World War) woman as easy as a piece of cake!.
So there you have it, our Koyuki is certainly a gem and a star, no doubt about that. I'm looking forward to her new film, Genghis Khan with Takeshi Sorimachi, where she's playing Genghis's first wife, Borte. As usual, the fickle Japanese press was more focused on the Korean actress who's playing the role of Genghis's favourite concubine. She's a singer & K drama star as well but still very young & inexperienced. I hope that despite being ignored by the Japanese press, Koyuki will still shine in her new acting role. The fact that she is being ignored was very obvious because I did not see Koyuki appear in any of the press conferences of the new film. They (the Japanese press) are being very silly because Koyuki is the only discernible Japanese actress that is recognised in Hollywood besides Chiaki Kurayama.

you need to use a compression/decompression utility to extract the files...
No you're not dumb...I suggest you use WinRar. I've provided it for you here.
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=4442447C1FE19EF0
After you uncompress the files you'll have a video file and a subtitle file.....you can use your normal videoplayer and vobsub.exe which is necessary to load the subtitles onto the video...
in the alternative you can download BS Player which will automatically load the subs.
edit: BTW, your Koyuki pics are stunning

Please help? |
okay no worries.... you normally have to download a program entitled "Vobsub."
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=76AAEE431E312AB2
This program loads the subtitles from the subtitle file on to the video you are watching....the only caveat is that the subtitle file and the video file you want to watch with the subs have to have the EXACT same name and be located in the same folder, ya dig
If you don't want to bother with that you can download BS Media Player which will automatically load the subtitles on to the video for you
