does anyone know why the ending of the "GTO Drama special" is so "wtf." the story doesn't even pick up in the movie. i mean, sure he is in hokkaido but, he is the only returning character from the series.

Didn't we have a similar thread before Anyways, the movie does pick up from where the special ended. As you mentioned, in the special, he gets a phone call asking him to go to Hokkaido. And the movie shows the reason for that phone call. Sure, he's the only one from the original cast who makes an appearance but it's still a continuation of the series.

Please don't describe the plot any more than this. I have the GTO special on my to-watch list, so I haven't seen it yet. Spoilers - Bad!

yeah. it does pickup from the special. but since he is in hokkaido, you can't expect the old characters to appear right?

i think that the movie, while a continuation of the series, is something completely different. i would rather see the special go unfinished than for the story to actually go along with the movie. i thought the movie, as something separate, was pretty good, but following the story, sucked horribly. not gonna post any spoilers for groinks sake _________________ http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.2315.htm

The movie didn't follow any of the manga's plots and ended up rather mediocre.

i watched the first 2 special eps. and i was expecting him and the teacher to be all together and develop their relationship but wrong! it continues on with a different class members and stupid quality.. the subs are off _________________

My advice to you that doesn't viewed the GTO movie: DON'T! Stop on the special, the movie sucks horribly! But I know you will not do it, but don't say I didn't warned you!

JUST saw the movie a ouple hours ago. Very disappointing like others have pointed out. Onizuka was even a little unfaithful with Fuyutsuki the way I saw it which is totally not his character in my opinion. Oh well, I thought the special wasn't too great till it neared the end. Worth watching the special is. The movie not so much, but you know you'll do it anyway(there's no way you could've stopped me from watching it even if you told me this ). _________________ Hello!
