you're right....at this point watching those two doramas is like Luke Skywalker being tested in the Cave on Dagoba
Yoda: "Your weapons (your remote control and mouse) you will not need them."
Luke (enters the cave): "I feel cold."
Yoda: "Yes, strong in Kyoko & Takky that place is."
nah i'll spare the noob....no need to scar him/her for life....oh if they've seen SOS and Kamisama mou sukoshi dake it's too late anyways.
Spare me? Please. And I'm a girl. Kthx. Not only that, but because you have seen more, (obviously) why feel the need to spare me? You start from the bottom up. I'll eventually see more. Better ones than what I've seen. Why do people ALWAYS have to diss the noob? Pssh. Not to mention, I only saw S.O.S through. I got to episode 4 of Kami, and I stopped watching. It didn't really intrest me. Kimi wa, Nobuto, and Gokusen are more my style anywho.

dood, you're fiesty...i wasn't dissing you i was merely referring to a running inside joke that i've shared with the "regulars" here.
"sparing you" referred to MY diatribes; it in no way was a dig on you...in any event it wasn't even a reply to your post, but to Shindou's....

Don't trip...i was merely joking around because those two doramas aren't my fav...kamisama and SOS....my joke stemmed from the fact that because you are newly enthusiastic about japanese doramas i should spare you my criticism and NOT rant about them....in effect you should be allowed to enjoy your recent experiences with those doramas as part of your initial forray in the world of japanese doramas.
enjoy!
no intention of insulting you....^_^ although i have been known to insult a dorama or two or three.

Heh, heh. Like I said in the edited 'fiesty' post, you gotta start from somewhere. Hell, I could love it now, and hate it later. Mainly because I haven't seen very many, but I'm workin' on it! ^-^

as some of the other members and i alluded to in previous posts...generally speaking, there are several other superlative doramas out there that will probably impress you more than some of the doramas in your current frame of reference.

Then what would you recommend?
before i go off i would suggest we move the discussion to the Jdorama Recommendations thread...then other ppl can chime in with their suggestions to you as well...moreover, you can read what other ppl have to say to get a broader range of opinions on the matter.

Don't forget aliens... we gotta insult the aliens.
Before I go into the many things disastrous about this drama, let me start off by saying that the actual storyline was not completely helpless. The idea of questioning who one can fall in love with is a great concept, and ideally we would have seen this explored through the relationship between female teacher and male student, and two people brought together under the titlehood of "siblings", but otherwise being unattached by blood. This alone should have been enough to make a hitc but somehow the creators of Strawberry on the Shortcake lost all direction and all intelligence.
To start with, the casting was terribly done. The only actors who held any talent were Kubozuka Yosuke and Uchiyama Rina, but their characters were so lame that even their acting ability couldnft save the dismalness of their roles. This was my first drama with Takizawa Hideaki and I can truly band together with all the other haters now in proclaiming that watching him act is far less amusing than watching a dog lick his own butt. He may be nice to look at, but his acting leaves much to be desired. This was my second time seeing Fukada Kyoko in a drama and although she, too, is nice to look at, her acting was nothing spectacular.
So, bad actors, plus bad characters, makes for a bad combination. The characters | every single one of them | were the most selfish and annoying I have ever witnessed in a drama. I understand that the creators wanted to portray the angst, fear, and ignorance of youth, but instead they created selfish, whinny, annoying, and fearfully demented characters. I had no sympathies for either of them (tho I did feel for Rina-chanfs character in the first few episodes).
In all, the drama could have been a masterpiece, but poor planning and poor direction totally destroyed any attempts at making this a success. I would not recommend this drama, watch at your own risk. _________________

LOL.
ironically this is an activity in which Takky engages in quite often...his butt licking is probably a palliative activity to soothe his wounds after spending the necessary private time with johnny kitagawa.
