Cel drawing implys drawing on a peice of acetate, then painting it.
Its easy to spot shows which aren't drawn on acetate - for starters there are no sells avaliable - only the odd sketch (genja)

Naruto, Azumanga daioh are 2 examples of such shows.
It might be hand drawn, but its still computer made - and CG/CGI is a subjective term that can have different meanings. An image only has to be touched by a computer slightly to be classed by some as CG(I).

Also remember soul taker is 2 years old. A lot changes in two years.

Now, proper 3d cgi is still relatively less common yes, but its getting more and more popular. Witch hunter robin, full metal panic are two examples. In fact, judging by the first WHR ep, its hard to see any enviroment which isnt 3d cgi of some kind

sephy1024 Full Metal Panic is NOT fully digital animated. By this I mean, that the animation is manually drawn, but "computer colored".

This can be easily seen in several shots, where steady non moving mechas are full of airbrushes and colored details, and animated one have a single shade (most probably Cel type shade)

sorry if I worded it badly , but i didnt mean that FMP was FULLY CGI. I was referring to the submarine and a few other scenes where the object in question is fully 3d. I didnt mean the whole show. BUT they are called gonzo DIGIMATION for a reason (but i never meant toi say fmp was fully cg)

Just started watching shingetsutan tsukihime.
Looks very promising...
UPDATE:
just finished tsukihime - a very good anime but way too short. Anyway, watching this made me realize why i like anime best, jdrama/kdrama second. Its a bit of a vampire genre with a little romance thrown in between. Animation doesnt stand out but i like the story very much. The opening track was also nice - very classy.

Next stop is Rumic Theather - a rumiko takahashi anime. Should be a nice change of pace from the serious Shingetsutan Tsukihime.

Just finished tsukihime too. Abit disappointed cos it had the potential to be better. Turned out abit saikano-like in the end though. Overall still a very good short anime though. One of its kind.

hmm, gonna hold off on Rumic theater for now. Its sort of like compilation of several short stories - watched first 2 eps and its good but its too short for me since each eps is a different story.
I'm in the mood for a long one so gonna switch to FMA - heard a lot of good reviews from this one so might as well try it.

Although I mostly have dramas, I watch drama occasionally. I'm more into the romantic type anime but for action-based, I enjoy Naruto. I also enjoy Tennis no Ojisama and this week, I've been addicted to .hack stuff.

yeah, the story is quite good. watched 13 eps already, so far so good. also currently watching Gungrave, Peace Maker Kurogane, Saiyuki Reload and Shadow Skill. PMK is quite okay too, but since the story revolves around the boy fighting action is too little.

I watched all the available eps of Shadow skill - I like it even though the animation is dated. And yes, PMK is also nice. Havent tried Saiyuki yet though. No more space on hd to download.

Speaking of Ai Yori Aoshi English...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just can't STAND listening to anime dubbed in English! Ai Yori Aoshi -- classic example. The English voice of Sakuraba Aoi just irritated me to death! And the English voice of Tina Foster... Ugggggh!!!! I prefer to listen to the Japanese voices and read the English subtitles.

Absolutely! I used to buy anime on VHS distributed by Manga Video and of course they're all dubbed. After a while I started purchasing DVD's instead and now I can't even stand watching anime with english dub! Except for my own old VHS's that I've gotten used to..
