i think that is better to have a class in Japanese, the learning is excelerated and the teacher keeps you in check as you are learning...
learning on your own takes disclipine and persistance, which is tough.

ganbatte ne....benkyu nihongo

Become a translator. I though about becoming a teacher later on once I'm bored with translating. But i'll try all sorts of translating. People to people. Comics, manga's anime, movies, textbooks,etc....

i think that is awesome that you know this early on in your education/career.

i wish i did this years ago...
but i am still trying.....to learn japanese slowly...
totemo muzukashii ( very hard to do, very difficult) to learn japanese thoroughly, and efficiently.

there are some online websites too as well, but not as extensive as learning it in a classroom environment.

My problem is I'm very intelligent, I show it but not when I don't need to. I really wonder what my IQ is. I always get good grades with out trying, butI lack focus. I space out and daydream. Thats my reason for attending a community college first. While taking the SAT's I was looking out the window 3 out of 4 hours.

i think you need to find what your gifts are, and what your strengths and interests are at. There is a book, on how to discover your career path, and in these types of books, they give you tests....to see where you lean towards based your answers and your personality type....that will direct/guide you to where you may want to pursue...
i would check out the local library/bookstore and view the section that has career/job and search for those types of books.

i sometimes lack focus too, and it is a challenge at my current accounting desk type job....but it is money, but a job is a job, i just wish i figured out what i wanted to do earlier in my career. But i am just content to be working again after being lost and unemp'd for so long.

Damn that. i'm to young and I already have two jobs. But I only pay attention when I have to interact or the teacher is doing a one on one thing. Or else i tend to think of other things. I know I woould do well in linguistic. I want to travel everywhere.

I turn 18 next month. I am a cook and a sales associate. And a student on top of that. A lot. My mind tends to wounder around. Sometimes I have no clue what I'm thinking about. But since I'm an angry person when I'm lost in thoughts thats when I most peaceful. Everywhere. Every continent, country, Island. AS many as I can.. But Japan and Africa are the many two I want to visit for reasons.

wow, sounds like you got ten things going at once at the same time for you, and no time to enjoy that inner peace for yourself.

thinking....there are many things to think about, and we can even think about thinking....that sounds crazy...but we do that from time to time.
or just think about nothing at all, just kind of space out.
two jobs and school, i would get burned out quickly...
and at only 18, you are doing a lot and very ambitious with many dreams and aspirations. Applaud

You make me sound like an idol of some sort. Well as far as inner peace go. I'm happy whe nI'm mad. I feel out of place if i'm not. I have two moods. Goofy/jolly and angry. Well lets not say angry but i get rather sarcastic.

As far as thinking about thinking. I always do that. Read my location. XD. But not being able to get out of baltimore yet feels like a prison. I've walked these streets so much I can become a map. So having dreams and goals to work towards is my motavation. I can't let myself get burnt out.
