German (mother tongue)
English
Japanese (Well, I'm learning the language for about three / four years now, and I'm studying it at university for about one year now. I can understand quite a lot and I'm able to talk about easy subjects. ^^ *very proud of himself*)
Korean (Well, I had one semester Korean at university but I quit, because learning Japanese and Korean at the same time was too stressing, difficult and confusing. Maybe I will pick it up again.)
French (I think I forgot nearly everything. The pronounciation was always difficult for me.)
Latin (Haha. )
I want to learn at least one more language soon, but I don't know which one. Any suggestions? ^^

Latin... a dead language. Must be tough to learn.
Well, saying that I'm able to speak Latin is a bit exaggerated. I had it at school, for about 3 years, but we never talked in Latin during the courses. We just translated texts.
But you're right. It was very tough, because there are no situations, in which you could use that language to practise it. Although we had a girl in our class, who was able to read and translate Latin texts, as if they were written in her mother tongue - she was really creepy. *haha* _________________

Ubi est proxima cella telephonica?
Knarrare te delectat.
I had Latin for ... well, four years straight. And three years when I attended school, what I didn't do very often.
German and English are the only languages I am fluent in, although I understand said Latin, some Spanish and French, some Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Yiddish.
I'm concentrating on learning Swedish and Japanese.
I want to learn Vulcan, too. And Quenya and Sindarin. _________________

Something about a mobile phone?
No, the first means 'Where is the next phone booth' and the second 'Furzen macht dich glücklich' (sorry, I didn't want to translate it to English as it's a bit offensive)
I forgot to mention I can do a real good mix of pseudo Russian and pseudo Japanese. _________________

Hmmm, I notice some correlation from West European members here -> Latin. Why do they make you learn a dead language .
well, I chose to go to a gymnasium (in germany/the netherlands a gymnasium is a schooldegree, it's the most difficult) and there, it is obligatory to study either Latin or Ancient Greek... I chose Latin.. I guess we need to study it so we can get a clear picture on how languages are developed.. or something _________________

Ancient Greek . What a tempting option...
I remember studying Old Bulgarian for half a term and that was it with the origins of the languages. _________________

In German gymasiums it depends on the languages that are taught. I had to take English in grade 5 because there were no alternatives. In grade 7 I could chose between French and Latin, and ... well, I guess it was my individualistic streak or something that made me take Latin. (Je ne regret rien.) I wanted to take French in grade 9, but I didn't have any chance to. I started Russian briefly in grade 11, though. There are schools that teach ancient Greek, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Turkish, Polish or Japanese, too. I don't know which else.

OMG! - I hate the German school system. Although I don't attend school any more. But I might want to try to finish my Abitur ... and ... it's so damned crappy!
I couldn't take any more than three foreign languages anyway.
I'm so envious of all the Scandinavian, Dutch, Belgian or Luxembourgian people I talked to who are fluent in three or more foreign languages ... _________________

you weren't allowed to have more than 3? we HAVE to have more than three: at least: French, German, English and Latin... I also chose Spanish, and then of course Dutch..
The school system in Germany is quite messed up.. what's even worse is the "annual" Rechtschreibreform.. thank goodness we don't pay attention to that (otherwise my classmates will completely suck at German) _________________

Yup, but it's easier to learn a language when you're young.
I'm turning 21 soon, and I'm planning to learn Japanese at a language school in Japan after I finish college and after one year of working to save up some money. By then I will be around 24. Do you think that's too old to learn to be fluent in a new language? I've been learning Japanese on my own for a year now, but truthfully it hasn't gotten me very far I'm sure I would have been better off if my school offered a Japanese course. _________________

I don't think you'll be too old.. well, It depends.. if you are a person who is bad at languages then It'll be harder.. but if your good at them you'll learn it faster... and if you go to Japan you'll be forced to learn: you gotta talk with the people... _________________
