btw, is hyuk single or taken? and does he speak english? i think it would be VERY difficult for me to learn korean because it's symbols and not letters. i know english and spanish but i would love to learn something like japanese or chinese, it's a very interesting culture, all in that region.

he is currently single but rumors said that he is close to artist, Jeon Ji-Hyun (the actress starring the movie, sassy girl) cos they are childhood friends.

hello ^^ I got to watch this movie by Fruit Chan at a film festival last year. It's called "Public Toilet" and I basically watched this for Jo In-sung but I also saw this other guy and in the credits it says Hyuk Jang so I'm not sure but it is the same Hyuk jang right? ^^ I didn't know he was the one in Bright Girl. I saw the series on TV for awhile (but I prefered not to watch because I don't like dubbed dramas ) but never knew that it was hyuk jang playing opposite jang nara

what's the title of his movie, the one where he learns english and stuff? i'd really love to see that. i only saw the clip on Arirang TV.

Em, dunno how accurate but i forget is it Jihyun or is it Jang hyuk, i think its jang hyuk. In one of the interview he is asked which female artist he will prefer the most if he is to be with, he said Jihyun heee.... as for jihyun she mentioned abt her bf's critiea and haha... guess what? Jang Hyuk really starred in public toilet, so u didnt mistaken the guy. As for the tv, showing the bright girl, if u do not liked it dubbed, u can change to korea speaking since its dual sound.

I've got some bits of translated articles that I saved long long ago. Here goes!

ARTICLE 1

'Chatting with 'Mister' about music and acting, Jang Hyuk says that he really wish to write his own music, play drums, bass, guitar, piano and writing his own lyrics (he hopes to do everything all by himself without any help from others). I hope that everyone who watches Joyful Girl don't bother or worry too much. But of coz, I hope that the viewers can feel the happy moments of the show, that is the best we can do. I did not act just to get praises or criticism, and definitely it's also not becos I wanted to get praises that I acted so seriously. I only hope that this show can send out the message to the viewers, and not only catch their attention but I really don't know what to do!

During interviews, when I'm on shows, I'm always not sure of what to say!! But I always have a sense of responsibilty that an entertainer should have. So I hope that everyone who watches me can remember 'he's an actor who puts in his heart into acting!' Hope everyone knows and understand me. So I have the responsibilty and motivation! Frankly, I created my own way of life, I'm not too optimistic, can say that I'm quite
pessimistic, my ex girlfriends always say that they've never seen such a pessimist before, since young I'm very shy and obedient and have low self-esteem.

Getting into this entertainment business, I thought that there must be a lot of interesting people in this line, and it turned out that there are many weird fellows from all over the country, it was also a big blow to me. But beforehand, I've never thought of becoming a celebrity, but many people said that a person like me acting should be very interesting! That's how I got into this line...... at that time, I had no concept of what performing is, I felt a little embarrassed. But after getting into performing, I realised that it is actually very interesting regardless of acting or singing, in this environment, everything is too interesting that I can't bear to leave. Maybe I'm born to be hilarious! I'm always picturing myself as the most interesting person, for almost 365 days, 24 hours, I'm always thinking about this!'

Hyuk continuosly mentioned the word 'interesting', Jang Yyuk is indeed very interesting. 'Its mainly after getting more jobs opportunities, I came across many challenges, and for a person like me who likes to think a lot, I always think of a way to overcome obstacles and to win (to look for fun), which is my biggest motivation.'

Actually I don't live in Singapore, so I don't have the option of switching languages for dual sound =) If you see below my avatar, I live in the Philippines. The local channel here showed a dubbed version of Bright Girl and unfortunately it's not one of those switch-to-Korean language type thingies. We're not so high-tech hehe.

Thanks Michi for the info about his latest movie ^^ I'd really like to get a DVD copy of that! Anyone know if there are other movies of his in DVD that're available around? =) I don't think Please Teach me English is released yet..

I know Please teach me English just came out in Korea. I forgot the release date. It's barely showing. I was able to download the trailer. Let me find the link and I'll post it. It's sooo funny.
