Alas I only know what I saw briefly on a poorly translated edition of "Japanese News" here in the United States. Can anyone tell me more about this "Mr. Tiger" Torisan? [/i] |
Tori-san means "Mr. Bird", I think you are thinking of "Tora-san"
Look on IMDB, there are 48 Tora-san movies (Otoko wa tsurai yo == It's tough being a man). They were one of the most popular, longest running series of movies ever.

Glad I could help.They happen to be showing "Wakaba" weekday mornings and the main actress in Oshin (Yuko Tanaka) plays Wakaba's mother. She's very good and I just happened to be checking her out to see if she was in anything else.

The asadoras (morning dramas) run every morning for half a year (I think). But this one ran for a full year.

Thankss for the ratings info
"An Iranian woman was once asked by a radio reporter, "Who is your symbol of Islamic womanhood?" "Oshin", she answered."
""Oshin" is a nationally popular TV program in Japan and has been highly evaluated in 59 countries and regions in the world."

Hey guys! If anyone can help me find out what this show is called, it's you guys. XD
I don't know if it was actually a drama, or just a one-shot thing, but I caught the last half of it on TV (I don't remember what station) during the typhoon we just had, like, 2 weeks ago. My boyfriend has no idea what it was called either.
It was, from what I gathered, about a boy from modern times and a boy from WWII era who end up switching places. The modern boy's name, I believe, is Kenta, and his girlfriend's name is Minami. Anyway, when Kenta goes back in time, he ends up being saved by Minami's grandmother or great-grandmother, and ends up a kamikaze soldier for the Navy. The WWII era boy ends up waking up in modern times, and, startled by the English everywhere, he thinks he's been sent to America and freaks out. But of course Kenta and this other guy from the past look exactly the same, so Minami just thinks he's been affected by whatever accident he had in the first place. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I hope that's enough for someone to identify it by. ^_^;;;
Anyone know what it's called? Is it a drama? Or just a TV movie thing? Thanks so much in advance!

I think you are referring to the new TBS drama "Bokutachi no Sensou" (our War). Here is the official website:

Um.. I need help identifying a show.. But I have no idea who the actors are..
So, it goes like this:
It's kinda like a detective show. And the main character is of course someone who is good at solving crimes and is known for his skills. Then whenever he goes anywhere, people mysteriously gets killed but he will solve how they died. Sometimes in some episodes he brings his friends along like for eg, they will go on a cruise together or to a chalet or something.. It was quite a long time ago so can't really remember the casts' names..
Kinda like the trick series though..
Thanks!!! _________________
