What Cyril Takayama is doing in those clips is called "Close-up Magic" or sometimes "Table Magic"

Just do a YouTube search for Close-up magic and you'll get a few dozen pages worth of film clips. Takayama is in there, along with many other examples (some good, some awful) of that sort of act.

Some of it is very fun to watch! I like the Street Magic scenarios where he goes to different neighborhoods in Tokyo...like Harajuku, Shibuya, etc.

Thanks to Tu_tricky I managed to find Cyril's vids on Youtube. This guy is just incredible! I love seeing the expressions on ppl's faces. The one where he is dressed up as a grandpa and somehow makes his head drop is amazing. And the one where he takes a real hamburger from a picture of different hamburgers.....priceless!

You're most welcome. Yeah I got a lot of joyous laughter out of watching his magic tricks....I loved all the ones you mentioned, too. The guy is just insane....the hamburger trick was hilarious especially given the fact that he actually took a bite and then walked away with one of the sandwiches....Glad I was able to share. I had read an interview with him on an online magazine website and after that K.T. Tran was discussing his tricks so I took the plunge was just flabbergasted by some of his illusions.

Yeah, I would love to know how he does it. Although that would take a lot of the enjoyment out of it Smile The one he took a bite from and put back into the picture.... the picture had a bite missing from the burger. Just insane.

Asunaro Hakusho is good drama for me. Even sometimes it is boring, but the storyline and the actor/actress is the main reason make this drama still be favourite among jdrama fans. This drama makes me know, the meaning of true friendship. Become Friends is more fun, enjoyable and understanding than become lovers. We will learn to appreciate it more than we appreciate our love.

I would watch Last Christmas first...probably the best of the three doramas you've mentioned...by far...but IWGP is good too...but i haven't finished watching it because the English subs aren't complete yet.
I didn't like Moto Kare too much. some of the characters aren't that likeable....

between the three drama you mention, I'm just finish watching Moto Kare only. The other three, not yet. Moto Kare for me is just.....an okey drama. I buy it coz i wanna see a great pairing between Tsuyoshi and Ryoko. They are a great, great couple for me after I watch Summer Snow. Summer Snow and Moto Kare is a very very different drama. Its a little bit boring Grumble and the ending is not I wish too. Tsuyoshi and Ryoko did a good job but I didn't expect Ryoko would take role like this. A little bit different from who she is.

If I'm Tsuyoshi in that drama, I will choose to break from two of them. Simple ne~~ hehe hehe

Just finished "Suppli". Of the 3 young-guy-older-woman romance I've watched - "Kimi wa Petto", "Anego", "Suppli" - this is sort of in-between. I liked "Anego" the most and "Kimi wa Petto" the least. However I am biased against Kamenashi and of the 3 actors, Akanishi seemed to fit his role the best.

I don't have any intention of watching Suppli because of the very genre you mentioned but I've seen the other two you mentioned...the only reason Anego was even memorable was the talented Ryoko Shinohara giving another plausible performance that connects with the audience in that it relates the trials of tribulation of a "real" character.

I was viewing the list of doramas I've seen and I was trippin' on how crappy most of the 2006 doramas are. Very disappointing showing this year....from what I've gathered from personal experience and what others have said about the crop of shows this year.

What?!?! Attention Please and Shimokita Sundays were great. Maki's upcoming drama has got to be a winner too.

Tonight we finished ep5 of Trick. It's pretty good. But it doesn't have the character of the dramas I really like. Those are "achievement" type dramas. Where the main character has to do her best to overcome an obstacle.

the only decent show i've seen this far was AP but most everybody said Shimokita Sundays was whack so I don't have any urgent desire to start watching it....I've seen Kurosagi and Gal Circle as well this year...they sucked.....big time.

I finished watching Trick season 1 a while back....it was fun but a little overrated in my opinion. It got really old watching a bunch of villians wearing gay ass costumes....they way overdid that.
