Just do a YouTube search for Close-up magic and you'll get a few dozen pages worth of film clips. Takayama is in there, along with many other examples (some good, some awful) of that sort of act. |
Some of it is very fun to watch! I like the Street Magic scenarios where he goes to different neighborhoods in Tokyo...like Harajuku, Shibuya, etc.

| Anime Dad wrote: | | Thanks to Tu_triky I managed to find Cyril's vids on Youtube. This guy is just incredible! I love seeing the expressions on ppl's faces. The one where he is dressed up as a grandpa and somehow makes his head drop is amazing. And the one where he takes a real hamburger from a picture of different hamburgers.....priceless! |
You're most welcome. Yeah I got a lot of joyous laughter out of watching his magic tricks....I loved all the ones you mentioned, too. The guy is just insane....the hamburger trick was hilarious especially given the fact that he actually took a bite and then walked away with one of the sandwiches....Glad I was able to share. I had read an interview with him on an online magazine website and after that K.T. Tran was discussing his tricks so I took the plunge was just flabbergasted by some of his illusions.

I would watch Last Christmas first...probably the best of the three doramas you've mentioned...by far...but IWGP is good too...but i haven't finished watching it because the English subs aren't complete yet.
I didn't like Moto Kare too much. some of the characters aren't that likeable....

I liked "Anego" the most and "Kimi wa Petto" the least. However I am biased against Kamenashi and of the 3 actors, Akanishi seemed to fit his role the best. |
I don't have any intention of watching Suppli because of the very genre you mentioned but I've seen the other two you mentioned...the only reason Anego was even memorable was the talented Ryoko Shinohara giving another plausible performance that connects with the audience in that it relates the trials of tribulation of a "real" character.

What?!?! Attention Please and Shimokita Sundays were great. Maki's upcoming drama has got to be a winner too.
Tonight we finished ep5 of Trick. It's pretty good. But it doesn't have the character of the dramas I really like. Those are "achievement" type dramas. Where the main character has to do her best to overcome an obstacle.

the only decent show i've seen this far was AP but most everybody said Shimokita Sundays was whack so I don't have any urgent desire to start watching it....I've seen Kurosagi and Gal Circle as well this year...they sucked.....big time.
I finished watching Trick season 1 a while back....it was fun but a little overrated in my opinion. It got really old watching a bunch of villians wearing gay ass costumes....they way overdid that.
