the only decent show i've seen this far was AP but most everybody said Shimokita Sundays was whack so I don't have any urgent desire to start watching it....I've seen Kurosagi and Gal Circle as well this year...they sucked.....big time.
I finished watching Trick season 1 a while back....it was fun but a little overrated in my opinion. It got really old watching a bunch of villians wearing gay ass costumes....they way overdid that. |
Thanks for the heads-up on Gal Circle. I rated Kurosagi as a 4 (but gave it a 7 because Maki was able to salvage the series).
But hey, don't be put off by SS. A third of episodes were really good.

other than AP, i think Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Iryu are worth watching (from the ones i've seen so far this year) _________________

Well since it's not completely subbed I'd probably wait in any event. Although I think Maki is a great actress I personally thought her acting in Kurosagi was far below what she was able to accomplish in Nobuta wo Produce....I didn't care for her character either. Just lame.
you wanna see Maki act well in a very charming role? Watch the film Always San-chome...she won the acting award for Best Newcomer at the 2005 Japanese Academy Awards for her role in that movie. Her acting was as good as in Nobuta if not better.

now im looking forward for Moto Kare, IWGP and Last christmas..
how do u think bout moto kare? |
personally, i thought it was a pretty boring show. they were probably trying to build on the success of summer snow and i dont think they really succeeded in doing that. the plot and the acting were both pretty uninspired, imho _________________

I will probably watch KKDO and My Boss My Hero but I dunno about those medical doramas...they are so chalk full of cliches...I'm wary despite the praise its been given...especially after watching Nurse Aoi....which was pretty wack.....
Thanks though! I will keep it under advisement though

Yeah I think you will enjoy it....I know we can't all agree on everything but Always San-chome was a very heartwarming film...in the best tradition of Japanese cinema to produce such films.

yeah, i havent watched Shiroi Kyoto or Shiroi Kage which Iryu is supposedly similar to or something - hoping to watch those soon so i can compare.
KDO is classic abe hiroshi - quite an amusing show
as for MBMH, I've only watched the first two eps but i feel there's too many younger actors/actresses with not enough experience - tegoshi's acting is even weaker in this than in gachibaka methinks. nevertheless, i'll continue watching, the storyline is predictable but still passably entertaining _________________

Hiroshi has many great roles so I'm not surprised....in Shotgun Marriage despite only being a supporting actor his character was incredibly hilarious. One of the best comilc supporting roles I've ever seen.

I've been watching Tomoko to Tomoko (1997) and having another one of those Wow! experiences.
It's not a great show. Just another little home comedy about two warring sisters living in the same condo.
I got the series because Naoko Iijima is featured, and she's a favorite of mine.
But watching the show, I've had a chance to discover Misako Tanaka. Dang she's special!
I saw her steal a movie titled "Amagi Goe" a few years ago, but I hadn't watched any of her series work because she always seems to star in those tear jerkers. But man... put it this way; When Tanaka and Iijima are on screen together, I'm paying attention to Tanaka.
Boy, I'm gonna have to go looking for more of her stuff. _________________ Manga is to Literature

watching orange days (ep3)
The deaf girl's situation reminds me of 1 litre of tears except less serious
Shibasaki Kou is really good
I'm liking it... it's funny.
I think I'm gonna like this better than Long Vacation (same writer right?)
I watched the first 15 minutes of this before..
but I stopped. I thought it was boring..
but after finishing the first episode..
it gets better and better _________________
