Now they're tied for first with the Padres with TWO more games to go.
It's down to the wire.
Yeah I went to the game, it sounded and felt like Dodger Stadium. Another thing I think the Dodgers paid off Pedro Felix, the guy struck out 4 times, he acted like the season was over and he wanted to go home.

bmwracer^They might have to play the Cardinals on monday. Just wondering if the Dodgers win the division are they going to celebrate again, if they do , that would be so tacky.

Yeah, I thought it was rather odd that they would pop the champagne just for making the playoffs... But seeing how high and dry the Dodgers have been, it's a major victory for them.

Watashi mo. I was thinking, "You know guys, if you win tomorrow and the Padres lose, you've won the division, that's a reason to celebrate"

I was at this game.
First of, how do you allow Maddux to steal second like that? And allow a sac fly to happen when you catch the ball near second base...not the outfield mind you, but maybe shallow center?? And screw up a relay that allowed another run to score?
I think the "high"light of that day was hearing the "welcome" when Tommy Lasorda showed up to the game. If I got a good shot of him, I'll post it.

Asleep at the wheel, that's how.
The Giants were just playing out the season, IMO.

It cracked me up to see so much Dodger blue at the ballpark, topped by those guys running around with the "Think Blue" banner.
I don't expect the Dodgers to go very far in the postseason, but sweeping out the Giants at the end was decidedly sweet.

Actually, the Dodgers are in the same boat: Kent, Garciaparra, Maddux, Lofton, et al...
I think the aforementioned were all considered stop-gaps until the kids (Loney, Ethier etc.) were ready for the bigs. Those kids are ready, NOW The irony is, Nomar could be comeback player of the year and end up somewhere else next year.

At least you have some kids....I have no clue how the Giants farm system is. I know that most of them were used in the different trades they made to get these veterans.
