Speaking of Densha Otoko deluxe special episode, I just finished watching it and it was damn good. It was very funny, and they play the Imperial March theme more frequently here. Ofcourse, it has it's touching moments too. And my favorite character, Jinkama-san, also did great. _________________

Okay, finished Tomoko to Tomoko. (1997) -- Thank you Eve!
I liked the show well enough, but mostly because it introduced me to
Misako Tanaka's work. She went directly onto my see anything she's in list. Originally I started downloading Brother Beat because it was hard subbed and because Ryoko from "Churasan" was in it, and I wanted to see her again. Now that I know about Misako Tanaka... I can't wait for the bugger to get finished. 2 more episodes to collect and I can start watching.
Two quick notes about "Tomoko to Tomoko". 1) Rates right up with "The Ring" for the worst background music in a TV series. And 2)Naoko Iijima must never be allowed to sing in a drama again. I love her, but really, she musn't be allowed to sing.
Re: series that we endorse, rave about, expect too much from.
See... I really liked Slow Dance. But I found Last Christmas to be something of a bore.
A show that I like infinitley more than Last Christmas is Medaka which was crushed in the ratings by Last Christmas. (Fortunately it found it's way to d-addicts and is finding a audience.)
My point? There are no official "good" shows. And star power only takes you so far.

By "Taky" do you mean Takizawa Hideaki?
If so, then yeah, he's pretty bad and most of the things he's been in have sucked. But he was in News no Onna, and that's a good show. _________________
i've yet to see that...but after seeing him in a couple of shows already i'm wary of seeing anything he stars in.
yeah, i've got to agree with Geezer on that one, news no onna definitely quite a good dorama.
i've been having a great evening - finished eps 3 and 4 of Houkago which was quite engaging in the hana yori dango-sense can't wait til the 5th and final ep to come out on d-addicts.
also just finished ep 8 of sleeping forest, for anyone following that show - i'd suggest leaving ep 8 until ep 9 comes out otherwise you're gonna be left hanging i can't wait to see ep 9 now _________________

Agree with you on Tanaka Misako. She starred in an episode of Furuhata Ninzaburo (I think it was season 2) alongside Kohinata Fumiyo - much younger but just as good.

Thanks for the heads up. However I've already purchased the DVD and the OST. The ripped AVI of the film resides permanently on my hard disk.

With your voracious appeptite for film and doramas I should have known
I do make a point of collecting all works of Ms. Ueno's. Unfortunately some of her older work, in which she only had a minor role, were either never released in DVD or were out of stock. Currently I'm debating (with myself) whether to acquire 'Engine'.

oh so you usually just watch most doramas but actually collect her stuff....i see, i see.
Just finished 2nd episode of Akimahende... A bit funny but also a bit weird... Isn't it so lack of eyecandy? After watching this, i realize that densha otoko does have a lot of eyecandy...
So someone here hates tackey that much ha? hwakakak. dont really like the tackey&tsubasa thing either nor do i like their songs...
What new doramas have good OST? V6-utao-utao for tiger&dragon adn Yui's goodbye days are so good. Ueto Aya's songs always sounds cute too.
Think I saw Ayumi Hamasaki's name on a dorama movie called Grains of Sand? (forgot the title, the japanese title has the word 'sinbad' or something). Is the movie good? She really plays in it? Main cast or cameo?
Can't believe i have to wait for ages til i can get my hands on 1litre no namida and attention please
