honestly, i'm relieved that jinjin was smiling. and to actually hear him say that it was his decision makes it more bearable.
what can i say? i'm so proud of all of them. the way they are taking this news is awesome. thus, we should follow their lead and let jinjin be. let's support kt on their quest to improve themselves while jinjin studies english.

KAT-TUN has given us a lot of wonderful songs and skits and a lot of other things, why can't he do something that'll make him happy? I'll wait for you, Jin, and still love KAT-TUN whole-heartedly.
He's not selfish to the fans. He's selfish to his group members. His own personal wish only benefits himself with the sacrifice of the whole group. Everyone is devoted and put a lot of efforts to make the group as a whole a successful one and at this point they're only at the very beginning of their success. With his absence it'll only do damage to the group. Being part of the group is no freaking part-time job when a member can say I need some time to be away for growing experiences and it'll be okay. Being part of the team is not about doing what is good only for yourself. Once he takes part of this team his presence matters and any move he makes will affect the team as a whole and yet he chose himself above all others who have worked hard with him. What can other members really say now other than you go do what you want to do? It's not like they can stop him if they want to. And if his decision really affects the group negatively he won't be able to look at his group members in the face again. Jin, it was you who broke us all. Things probably won't be the same. Well I'll see how much he grows for 6 months and if he devotes his time for more growing you probably won't see him again.
I wonder why it has to be now. That letter he wrote for Kttun must be a hinting of goodbye or something.

I've wondered why it has to be now as well; they practically just debuted. Some fans, like me, will be understanding, while some will be pissed to high hell. I won't lie and say I'm not sad either, because I am, but I want to support Jin, not be angry at something he's wanted to do for a while. All we can do is wait.

And between her opinions and my own opinion based on the information she's presented, not just now but in the past, I really think there's a lot more to Jin leaving than just a desire to study abroad. Has anyone seen the press conference clip? He looks terrible. There's rumors about health problems and I've heard rumors in the past about him having problems with JE for whatever reason. Don't know how much truth is in these rumors, but the health issues appear to be true, since he's mentioned it as part of the reason why he's doing this. But the whole thing was so sudden, and the way JE has gone about announcing it... There's more to it than that he just wanted to study abroad. hmmm. it's so interesting to see jin decide this for himself. i think it's a good decision on his own part, but. i feel bad for KT. it's gotta be hard for them to swallow, but i'm sure they'll understand eventually. *sigh* but if people really ARE KAT-TUN fans, they'll continue to support the group even if jin is gone for half a year. i'm actually quite happy for jin. because he's doing something to fulfill his dreams
let's hope his engrish gets better tho. and he doesn't get TOO homesick. i'm sure he put a LOT of thought into this decision, and i hope he doesn't let this opportunity go to waste. i think i love jin more for doing this. it takes a lot of guts

so true!! my friend was talking about this on her site... and i think this is another reason he's going. the bad rumors/press about him haven't been putting him in the most positive light recently...

It's true. Plus look at his record recently. He was passed over TWICE for roles in dramas (first Attention Please, then Sapuri), or at least this is what I have heard. And it's undeniable that he hasn't been in any dramas since Anego. But then look at Kame and Yamapi, they've been crazy busy. Even Koki has been really busy with dramas lately. But nothing for Jin, someone who's equal in popularity with Kame and Yamapi? There's something going on there...

I don't care if it's not six months, I'll put up with it. But I am worried, if what you are saying is true. I mean...he has to come back. Not only because I really love him as a singer, but because he's a part of KAT-TUN. I can't imagine someone else being in KAT-TUN or someone leaving, that goes for everyone, not just Jin. yeah good point, xyz. when kattun is at its height, jin decides to step away and who knows, kattun might fall down. i just don't understand why jin chooses now as the time to get away from it all. yes, he is young and wants to try new things but he has what millions only dream of - a stardom career. kattun is at its best! SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE.....

Really if it's truly Jin's decision to the core I'll round up my group of minions and kick his sorry @$$ if I ever see his face in this neck of the woods.
But part of me still think this is all so weird. JE can't fulfill some pipe dream of Jin that he wishes for just because and by doing this will give them more negative return than positive. And Jin isn't exactly the type that defies JE and risking it all for studying language at this very wrong time.
after reading all your posts.. i feel a rush of tears to my eyes. because i realised how i have failured to identify all the hints that he gave us.. the medical condition rumours. the passing of drama roles. the reading of his letter to kt-tun. everything. how could i have missed that out. and thought of it so lightly...
wad if jin reallie has been suffering and having all those problems?! i cant bring myself to blame him or get angry with him. he needs our support now too. we cant afford to abandone him now..
i agree that jin leaving would be a great great impact on the group. that's why we should support kt-tun even more now! everyone has put in soo much effort to get to this height. kame esp i feel. cos his character makes him try his very best in everything he does.. it must be hard now.

Jin's interview with NTV NEWS ZERO (A little different...)
Just finished watching the interview on television.
It seemed a little tense in the beginning but when Nakamaru and Taguchi showed up, it was pretty lighthearted and it looked like Jin felt a lot better having his fellow members with him and Jin kept joking around with questions.
They mentioned Kamenashi, and his little note to Jin and Jin laughed, and apparently they had a heavy and deep conversation on the phone the night before that was sort of like a goodbye. They also mentioned Koki, and his note to jin saying that he wanted Jin to work hard and he (koki) himself would work hard until Jin returned and Jin said that by that time, Koki's hair would've probably grown in (or something like that...)
Then they tried to say K?t-tun without the A and it sounded funny and everyone laughed. Then Taguchi and Nakamaru said that they didn't need to pronounce it differently because they weren't changing the name...Because Jin is still part of the group and Jin smiled a really happy smile at that which made me happy. And he sticks his tounge out. Twice, I think. wtfomgbbq. It seems pretty light hearted, though this *is* JE we're talking about and they're a bunch of cold hearted bastards who treat their idols like crap (Not paying them enough/ messing with their lives) but things look a little better than before and I'm willing to hope that Jin might come back as he said he has no intention of leaving Kat-tun at all.

i haven't really expressed how i feel because of the super mixed emotions regarding this issue because for three days now i can't really believe it but now after reading your posts i believe that jin has a good reason for taking a leave of absence either to study or for his health but i am hoping that when he comes back he would be better, stronger, wiser and healthier person. As for the other members of the group i know that they are still shocked about this mainly because they have been together for a long time now but they have to support jin's decision! gambatte jin and for us fans we need to show our full support to kame, koki, ueda, maru and junno so that when jin returns we could have an even better KAT-TUN...
