May I first point out that six months isn't really long enough to become fluent in a language... especially for Bakanishi. Car shrimp. Need I say more.
Kame as the next KimuTaku... I don't know. Kame sure does work hard, but I mean, KimuTaku is a legend. (For the person who doesn't know who he is, he's SMAP's leader, is mega-famous, has starred in a billion famous dramas, is consistently voted the sexiest guy and stuff like that, and is very very popular among the women in Japan. Definitely the most famous and influential Johnny's. All the other JE boys that we love have nothing on him.) I think it's a bit presumptuous to say that Kame will be the next KimuTaku. You could say that about Yamapi too. Being well-loved and in lots of dramas and such, even being a hard worker, isn't enough to become the kind of legend that KimuTaku is. In fact, I don't think that there ever will be a "next KimuTaku." I think that there will be other famous boys following him, but KimuTaku is KimuTaku, and no one else will be quite like him.
I think Jin is trying to say good things so it doesn't sound so bad that he's leaving. I mean, it would sound terrible if he just out and said that he's leaving KAT-TUN and won't come back, you know? Especially since he wants KAT-TUN to be successful. And if you noticed, Jin himself never said "Wait for me to come back" or anything. The other members said stuff like that. All Jin said was that he'd be gone for at least six months, and maybe longer, depending on circumstances. And I think JE might not let him come back if he stays longer than six months. That's my understanding anyway, that they're giving him the six months but no longer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. I hope he does come back in six months. I hope that's enough time for him to get things worked out. I guess we'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best.

hahaha. another "pi in kat-tun" rumor. that's funny. i remember last year (i think), there was also that rumor. or i think it was when news was suspended, and kt haven't debuted yet. they were all, "yamapi is joining kat-tun, so it's gonna be like kat-tuny or whatever". hahahahaha. definitely not. i don't think this is possible. kat-tun will always be kat-tun. _________________

no....pi will never join Kat-tun...it is only rumors....hopefully jin will comeback with Kat-tun...i can see Kat-tun without jin...but...as there is a hope jin will comebck...i definetely will support Kt-tun...let cross our fingers...hopefully it will be only 6 months....
"And, I think it was all you fans who were the most shocked; but since Jin is not quitting nor are we disbanding, letfs all look forward to his return with his head held high."
They will wait for Jin to return!, so nobosy is replacing Jin^^ _________________

I only heard of Pi song, and think he's great from that (=P) but like I previously said, it'd be plain wrong to change KAT-TUN's members in any way. KAT-TUN is Kame, Jin, Junno, Koki, Ueda, and Yuichi. No one else. Only those six can be KAT-TUN. And I honestly believe he will come back. He said he'll be gone for six months, he pretty much implied he'll be back then. I'll just wait and continue to support them all.

Need I say more? Seriously thank you, you've done my job :
Stop searching for a new Takuya Kimura, there will not be another man like Takuya Kimura ever in Japan's entertainment. It won't be Kamenashi, nor YamaP, nor MatsuJun, nor Tackey; everytime a Johnny's is gaining a big exposure in a quick time, people speak of him as the next Takuya Kimura...
And if by any chance there will be one, it won't be Kamenashi. He's really great but he's got nothing of Takuya's charisma. Just compare their ratings... While Kimura can pull off a 30%-ratings drama by almost himself, Kamenashi crowded with superstars in Sappuri grabbed a very miserable 14%. Of course they're not at the same point of their career but Takuya Kimura has gained so much fame that he can criticize the Jimusho without holding back, something a lot of people couldn't do.
Takuya Kimura has gained international fame with 2046 and I'm sure that with his next movie with legendary filmmaker Yoji Yamada, Bushi no Ichibun, his popularity is going to get through the roof once again. Not mentionning the countless times he's been voted as Japan's sexiest man and how much recognition he got for his dramas (a lot of them are labeled as classics).
As for Jin now, even if he leaves KAT-TUN, of course I'll be very saddened to hear it but I'm still glad of everything he will have brought to the group: people who criticize his choice are ignorant of what can a member of the Janizu Jimusho endure, how stressful it can be to behave like an idol and how to hide the suffering. Do not forget something; he is human and has weaknesses. Let's not talk prematuraly and see how things go by, ok?

yeah, i think being the next kimutaku is a pretty farfetched thing for kame right now. but just the thought that some people think that he can be the next kimutaku is a good thing already. and that makes me proud of kame. to be able to give people the impression that he is gonna be huge enough to follow kimutaku's footsteps. that's awesome.
anyway, i'm giving you guys the tattakoi theme by kat-tun. our first exposure to kt-tun. i love the song. i think it would have been even better with jinjin, but nevertheless, i still love it. and i love it even more because of the lyrics. it's simply lovely.
Takuya may be riding the wave for a while but he's no legend. If he has anything it has to be luck. Take a look at Masha who is in second place of the popularity poll. He's superior to Takuya in all aspects: charisma, talent, personality, and even height but yet he's not as popular. Why? I'm clueless as to why Takuya is so popular and I'm just as clueless as to why the korean actor Bae Yong Joon is popular with Japanese. (okay, maybe BYJ played this ultra unrealtistic romantic guy in WS) but anyways I've seen what Takuya has to offer and to tell you the truth he doesn't deserve the attention. Something just doesn't add up. If Kame can't ride the wave like Takuya it's not because he doesn't have what it takes. It's because he's not as lucky.

lol! i remember that.
i have a friend from japan who is also a huge kat tun fan, she emailed me and said:
I am surprised to see that news about Akanishi yesterday. I don't know where he is going but it seems that studying abroad is a fake because there are some incoherences in that letter that the company showed. Entertainment commentator said that he behaves bad or something like that. Also he said that once they leave the world of entertainment, they can't come back to it like News's member. ( J Jr's company is so strict about that.) I hope Akanishi say something in his own words.

For a while, you say? Aren't you being a little bit hypocrit here? Since Long Vacation, his popularity has not faded the least and even married he remains as Japan's most influential entertainer. For a while, so you say. Do you know he's been in SMAP since 1988 and his band, along with SAS, B'z & Mr. Children is considered to be the most successful band in terms of longevity? That's surely not a while. Let me remind you that the 3 most rated dramas star him as main character? To consider this "luck" proves you're not aware at all on how popularity functions in Japan (yet you said 2 pages ago you were agreeing on Kame "being the next KT". SO Kame will be recognized for his "luck", indeed.)
To talk about luck is that you don't know how much trouble it was to make SMAP popular, you don't really believe they got a KAT-TUN like debut, do you?
From the backing dancer of Hikaru Genji he was to the legend today, Takuya Kimura has achieved what no entertainer could do.
May I know on which facts are you basing yourself to say that Masaharu Fukuyama is superior in every aspect? On sales? No. On popularity? Nah. On polls? On TV exposure? Certainly not!
Ah you brought up that Korean dude; just keep in mind he's not as popular in his country (whereas Takuya has gained strong following all over Asia) and he doesn't stand a chance against someone like Won Bin in Korea.
You say Takuya doesn't deserve the attention, I say Kame has bored a lot of people with his face everywhere and Jin should have had more spotlight. And Kame won't ride on the megastars road if he shows again that poor and unconvincing acting like in Sappuri; in Yuuki he was fantastic.

luck???? honestly i could care less if you like the guy but it's quite funny to hear someone say Kimura Takuya's continued popularity is luck...Kimura Takuya was just recently named favorite guy by the famous Japanese women's magazine An An for a RECORD 13 YEARS IN A ROW. I've seen tons of doramas and he has starred in the top 3 HIGHEST RATED Getsuku Doramas of all time..which no one can even come close to boasting...male OR female...his doramas consistently get ratings of over 20% which is unheard of these days outside of Taiga dramas.....
anybody who's been ranked top guy for 13 years in a row popular polls has brandname recognition that stems from more than just luck. i could easily bet that this feat will probably NEVER be topped again...at least not in our lifetimes...
to say his popularity is luck is like saying Michael Jordan was lucky to win all his MVP titles and NBA championship rings .....he was just riding a wave

Maybe he will..I'll continue to hope, whether it be in vain or not. All of KAT-TUN, except Jin who didn't say it directly, said he's coming back and that he's not leaving for good. Why would they say that if he was? It'd be much easier to just lay it all out right here and now whether than wait until six months from now and say,"Sorry, we lied. He's never coming back." I don't know if I can handle that, anyway.

it's hard to know for sure because the japanese talent management system exerts such strict control over celebrities that they represent that maintaining image becomes an all encompassing obsession for these talent agencies....if he were not coming back (and i'm not saying that is going to be the case) the agencies might lie just to deflect the damage his departure would cause to the group's popularity, image, and thus earnings...

Tu_triky >> (Sashiburi ! How are you?) No, indeed, we are in the wrong, thus I bet Takuya Kimura is paying An An every year with money he found on trees (I heard he was being a lucky guy =) to get the first spot in those polls. And I'm sure he lied too about the 41% ratings he did on Beautiful Life... they were wrong and made the 14 into a 41! ^^;;
Pure luck on this one too.
Honestly, I have admiration & respect for Takuya Kimura and Kame but her/his worshipping of the incarnation of perfectness named Kame blinded her/him from the harsh reality; this latter still has a lot to prove!

well yeah i agree...i'm not suggesting, nor are you, that you have to like the guy, but to deny his incredible accomplishments especially in the world of Japanese entertainment where ppl come and go with incredible ease....is impossible! the guy is by all accounts, a living legend, and he's only in his 30s. nobody even comes close to this guy with regard to his TV popularity....obviously films are a different story but he is the king of popular television...and TV itself is king in Japan.
i mean this guy makes OTHER ppl's careers...if a young female actress gets a break and stars alongside him....that can literally vault her career to the next level.

Kame is popular and everything and he deserves his fame (i have nothing against him) but he is waaaaaay too young to be compared to Kimura Takuya...his accomplishments don't even come close....and it's doubtful they ever will.
so basically my friend....I agree with what you said!
yes Beautiful Life, Long Vacation, Love Generation, etc are all pretty much "classic" dramas for easily understood reasons....
Kame good luck...you've created an incredible fanbase for yourself....but it's rare to see young stars have the longevity of Kimura Takuya.

Tu_tricky >> (4000 more posts since the World Cup! Aren't you eating ? =)
We could say also that Takuya Kimura has had the utmost honor to be the voicer of the main character in the last Hayao Miyazaki anime movie, which is still the biggest box-office since 2004...
I just wonder when will Kame do his cinema debut and whose filmmaker he'll work with. Dubbing an anime would be great too. ^^;;
