I found this thread...Just in time for Halloween!

I have seen, heard and felt ghosts (or spirits). A bit unnerving but nothing that made me pee in my pants. Mr Green

Just earlier this year I had a very odd experience here in my flat. I live in Clydebank, Scotland. The history of this area - during WWII, the Germans blitzed the entire town for days. When they were finished, there weren't too many buildings left standing. So many people, entire families, perished during that time.

My husband was away with his friends for a night out so I was left home alone. It was just after 2 a.m. when I decided to go to bed. So, I shut down the computer and left the spare room but I suddenly felt the hair stand up on the back of my neck...I felt as if I was being watched.

I "felt" as if there were 3 children watching me, an older boy in his mid-teens, a younger boy close to 10 and a young girl maybe around 5. I don't know why I felt this, I just seemed to know. So, I got into bed and then I felt the bed on my left sag down...as if someone was either leaning on it or had just sat down. By this time, I was scared. I closed my eyes and kept telling them, "I'm not going to open my eyes. I'm not going to open my eyes...please go away! Just go away!" They did leave once I told them to go away for the second time.

I felt it was the little girl who had been on the left side of the bed and the two boys were standing by the foot of the bed.

My overall feeling is that I don't think they meant to scare me, the feeling was actually one of curiousity, playfulness - Itazura.

I've never experienced that again, although there are some nights when I do feel once more as if I'm being watched.

As a note, my friend here in Clydebank has a little soul wandering around in her home. She told me that sometimes she can hear it, just a whispering - "Mum? Mum?" and that it actually follows her around when she's doing things in the home.

LOL...I know. It started when someone said that there was a Drinks thread somewhere. In my embarrassment, I went looking for that thread (the search button doesn't always work for me, don't know why). While doing so...I found all these wonderful old threads. Mr Green

About ghosts - here's another one:

Before I left for Scotland, I worked the graveyard shift at a clinic. I had a friend who worked the evening shift and just happened to be working late so she was on her way out but we got to chatting for a bit, it was just after midnight. I sat facing the door and she was just turned slightly to the door. I saw a shadow go zooming past but it was so quick, it didn't register in my mind what just happened. At that very moment, she turned to me, wide-eyed and said, "Oh...shit!! Did you see THAT??!!"
I still wasn't sure what had happened so I said, "Ah...no, what was it?" And she said, "It was a f-n GHOST!!". At which point she grabbed her things and said, "I've got to go...".

Later, when I had time to think...I remembered the shadow flying by. It finally dawned on me that I had actually seen a ghost.

At least I know I wasn't seeing things that night because we both saw it at the same time.

I love ghostly tales - whether it's from my own experience or hearing from others about theirs. Mr Green

By the way, if anyone knows any good personal ghost stories from Japan, I'd love to hear about it. Victory! Peace!

it's the digital impression of your brain pattern after your organic brain is digitized into a cyberbrain.

Ah...Wynter...

Krim is so mean, messing with you like that. Hidoi...! hehe

It's a spirit, a lost soul wandering about earth because they can't rest or find their way to heaven. Have you ever encountered a spirit?

LOL! I'm playing off his joke. I know what a ghost is, I was just curious as to your definition, since there are so many different versions of "ghost".

Like, I don't believe in some types of ghosts, but I do others, ya know?

This is the type of definition I was looking for. At the moment I think I'm totally indifferent. I mean, scientifically spirits can't exist, and yet I'm more spiritual than scientific. And yet... I dunno. I'd like to say yes... but because I haven't experienced the presence of a spirit myself, I can't say I do for sure.

Ah...I see... Mr Green

What I just wrote, about ghosts/spirits - that's my definition. If my coworker hadn't seen what I had seen, at the very same moment, I would have just left it as me being really, really tired that night and I was just seeing things. But since we both saw that shadow, I know I wasn't hallucinating. My husband is a very Scientifically-oriented guy...there's always a logical reason for things happening. He said I was probably really tired that night. I said we both saw it at the same time. He said it might have been a light flickering for a second.

I don't know...he could be right...or...perhaps there are things that happen that just can't be explained, ne? Wink
