I have to agree with WD. Saying that K8 aren't musically good is kinda being ignorant. Have you even listened to their music? And even if you don't like their stuff, saying that they aren't musically good is uncalled for. I won't repeat WD's arguement, but just something to say about your 5th comment there.
For an album/single to sell, it needs loads of promotion. To be known, you need loads of promotion. In the entertainment world, you need exposure. Being restricted to one area doesn't really help you. Look at Sayaendou... it had no promo whatsoever, and it didn't sell as well as NEWS' other singles. Not all Japanese music fans are JE fans, and not everyone makes it a point to look up about people they've seen in dramas/movies.
You say 'so what if they were only in the Kansai area' since we all know about NEWS anyway? Then let me ask you, how did many of the people here get to know about NEWS? Through Yamapi in his dramas. That's exposure for you. Yamapi brought them to NEWS, NEWS brought them to JE, and JE brought them to other groups (that is, if you make any effort to actually get to know about the other groups)
It was about time that JE actually put forth more than just a tinkling of effort to bring K8 up, and they are doing extremely well.
Being in the soundtrack of an anime is a sign of high standard you say? Well, if I'm not mistaken, K8 have had songs in an anime soundtrack even before Sayaendou. Feel free to correct me here, WD, since i'm not so sure. Heck, Ya-Ya-yah sang the theme song for an anime too.
I don't intend to start a war of words, but I do feel that comments about other groups should be made in a more tasteful manner. It's okay to say that you don't like a certain group, but to diss it... NOT okay. _________________

Yes, you need to promote, but making into different versions is actually a bit annoying i think for people who want to start knowing NewS, if i went to a CD store to do some search, "what is with this band? it's like they're making me buy both of the CDs...." and consider another artiste instead...
k8 in anime sountrack? what anime? name it, coz sometimes the anime itself effects the soundtrack

hmm i have listened to the entire discography of k8 as well as watched all the concert dvds they have produced but to me, NEWS music appeal to me much more than kanjani8. I guess such things are very subjective, like how some people just fall in love with subaru's voice whereas others find his voice whiny. But yupp, i must agree that kanjani8's music is of a much greater variety as compared to NEWS'. Looking forward to their newest single too ^_^
i don't understand why is johnny so biased against K8 though..
Ahh.. i'm getting off topic, better not talk too much about k8 here. Anyway yeah monta try k8's music and you may actually like it more than NEWS (given that your taste for music is so different from mine ^^)

K8's music not musically as good as NEWS? Now that's a first! So many people I've asked, even non-JE fans, think that K8's music is one of the best in JE! Not just because they can sing REALLY REALLY well, but they also play instruments, and some write their own songs. Not to mention that they have the VARIETY, rock, enka, pop, blues, where not all JE can claim to have. NEWS is too poppish, their music belong to the popular genre, and I'm not saying that their music is not good, because it is! NEWS' music is good popular music, while K8's music is edgier, more on the matured side sometimes & fun side sometimes, that does not cater to the popular music brought by most JE. To me at least, I can listen to FTO for so many times without getting bored because the voices are hella good and the music is hella fine.
Why doesn't K8's music sell as well as NEWS', you ask? Have you seen the recent sales? K8's singles get better with each release, their sales go up instead of going down like most groups. And one other thing, JE is biased to their Kansai boys, everybody knows that!
OK, that's all. I'm not picking up a fight, but please, mind your words next time? I won't go on about the deficiencies NEWS have because it's not fair and I won't. I still like NEWS, by the way.
I agree w/ WD. Although I said Kansai 8 are great entertainers and they are very funny, I never doubt their singing ability. I think the overall artist ability Kansai 8 members may be said to be higher amoung all 3 You & J teams, although I love NewS more.....=p B/c Kansai 8 are older and they worked longer, they are more mature and have more experience. Even if we don't talk about singing, I think no one would oppose that they are the Best MC (even better than Koyama and Kame).
Back to music....well, you gotta admit that not every song of Kansai 8 is as catchy that ppl can easily remember for just listening to it once or twice. The % of catchy songs in NewS's CD is somehow higher than the % of catchy songs in K8's CD�c�c..My friends who don't know both team at all prefer NewS songs when they listened to it by chance, like they already like it just after hearing for once or twice........But then again, diff ppl diff taste......And good sale or not doesn't only rely on the singer, much more influence lay on promotion, KT's debut CD is an example. Real Face if not for that high level of promotion, it won't sell over 1 million........I am not saying KT not able to sell good, but wouldn't be over 1 million that many........Yes, Johnny is bias, very DEEPLY!!!! If they distribute more catchy songs to Kansai 8 and give them more promotion, I don't think their distance w/ KT & NewS will be very far........By the way, not only Johnny's bias against Kansai 8, the whole Kantou area in Japan are bias on Kansai area. (well, I think that's one of the reasons which make Johnny bias against Kansai 8, since their fan-base is smaller?) I may understand why black and white ppl in America are bias on each other, b/c they are from diff race diff countries�c..but Kansai ans Kantou are both Japanese, same race same country........I don't know JP history very well, so I really don't understand why Kantou ppl mostly seem to look down on Kansai ppl...........I think this has something to do w/ the sale of the CD, too.......since many K8 songs have the Osaka taste, some extreme ppl may not like them?

I will not comparing this two group coz I love them both. each group have their own specialty for me. so please don't say it why you don't like them coz there is other people who likes them.

Just found Yamapi's SP drama Byakkotai news clip on Youtube. OMG!! The ninja outfit (not really ninja, but sort of like that�c�cdon't know better word to describe) of Yamapi is sooooooooooooooooooooo kakkoi~~~~~~~Yamapi in this outfit and w/ that ponytail looks so cute and younger. Ah~I can't wait to watch the SP drama!!!

monta if you don't know much about K8 then please don't say such ignorant stuff! A lot of NEWS fans are both K8 fans and you seem to be in some way insulting K8's musical talent...please stop if you don't know anything about them because then you just start drama....I love Kanjani8 more then NEWS but I'm a NEWS fan as well. I'm still hoping that Toma debuts but you know how bias Johnny is When NEWS came out I was a bit pissed off at Yampai because he promised Toma he'd debut with him but I know it isn't Yamapi's fault and he was a little miserable when NEWS just formed. But I sometimes feel he forgets his old friends.
Why does it seem that more people want Uchi back but I don't hear the we want Kusano back as much as I hear it about Uchi????? I like Kusa aswell and it annoys me a little.. _________________

Yea, it was all sweet how Takki used to like knock Pi down and hug and kiss him........^^;; Honestly, I don't really like Takki before, until I see how he treat Yamapi.......One of the many Papa-love moment I like was back before SC on air, during a game show there were 3 kids (Yamapi was one of them) doing performance and Takki is the judge. If he thought the performance was great and pass, he'd ring the bell in his hand. Chibi-Yamapi made a mistake in his performance but Takki immediately jump out of his chair and rang the bell forcefully and hyperly!!! And Toma as the host questioned why, and Subaru from Kansai 8 said something like b/c Yamapi was very cute, so it's ok even if he failed.......^^;; I just love how Papa doing all he could to protect his little son~even though it may be unfair to other kids sometimes.....
Older JE units.....I like to listen to songs of Tokio and Kinki Kids, and some V6 & SMAP songs.....But never call myself their fans, except for Nagase Tomoya. I REALLY LOVE Sakuraba Yuichiro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Yamapifans I'm hoping 4TOPS debut as well since they totally deserve it and I hope Yamapi will be able to do 2 groups like Uchi and Ryo! I be kind pissed off if its yahx3 who debuts because even though I like them, 4tops deserves it way more.
Do you have the link to that Jweb?? Because I love Papa/son moments! Takki is another person who made me like yamapi..so it was opposite for me...and about Kusano..even though he's my least favorite NEWS member and I think that he has many qualities I don't like about him..I still like him because he's got talent..I used to hate him before but that's slowly change but I think he'll always be my least fav. NEWS member.
As for the Junior and ages thing..I'm 15 turning 16 so I'm close to Yax3 age. _________________

I watched Shounen wa Tori Natta less than a month after I watched 1 Litre of Tears, but I didn't find any problem w/ it......probably b/c I never expected it to be as good as 1 Litre and so never tried to compare these two from the beginning, b/c I understand that these two are made like 5, 6 yrs apart, you can't really compare an old movie w/ a new dorama......script are diff, filming method are diff, actors' outfits and clothings are so diff, 1 was less than 2hrs long and 1 was 10episodes long, just can't compare........and I never expected Yamapi to act well here...HEY! HE WAS JUST A 15-YR-OLD BOY BACK THEN, WHAT HIGH LEVEL ACTING SKILLS DO YOU WANT TO EXPECT FROM HIM ANYWAY?? And as a 15-yr-old, I think his acting at least passed the passing line.....And I think the scene where the whole family crying over KenKen's dead body is very touching. Not as touching as 1Litre, but still........

and also read that uchi is having a scheduled photoshoot in january ^^ really really hope this is true^^
yep and like what Yamapifans said earlier, the news about koyama saying that NEWS will definitely be back next year and that they have already started recording songs on the ya-ya-yah show have also spread there
