this may be a ways back, but about the prizes awarded in the tokyo sports fest, nono's prize was not a piece of cardboard. it was a gift card for 2950 yen. and just like over here(north america) with the gift check prizes, its a huge one. just for show, so that many people can see and possibly read what it says.

the pillows that ayaya & co got were snoopy pillows. im guessing snoopy is quite popular.

i just started watching a few of the surprise english lessons. Gomaki is so cute in them. and she has such good pronounciation even though she denies! anyone disagree?

(i don't have all of the lessons yet, but how big is the entire thing altogether(i hope its at most 2GB)? i think this is going to be one of my primary ways to learn japanese.)

Do you really need to ask if its worthwhile to dl?? Its not like its huge...maybe that question should be phrased as "...a worthwhile disc to buy?". IMO its an ok cd just slightly better than Ayaya's X3.

To try and get over the Nacchi blues, lets make this thread bigger than the other mega gallery threads Big Grin

Haven't fully introduced all the H!P groups yet so lets continue with Country Musume.

Originally concieved as a group with "girls from Hokkaido" theme.

1st Gen Country Musume
Hiromi Yanagihara, Rinne Toda, Azusa Kobayashi

Tragically, after only 1 single release Hiromi died in a car accident and Azusa then soon left the group leaving only Rinne. Rinne stuck it out for a while as Country Musume solo.

2nd Gen Country Musume
Rinne Toda

In 2000, a new member Asami Kimura would join to make Country Musume a duet.

Asami Kimura

3rd Gen Country Musume

In 2001, Rika Ishikawa from Morning Musume would join the group temporary to make it more popular. Rika wasn't from Hokkaido but she wasn't a permanent member.

Rika Ishikawa

4th Gen Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika

In 2002, they would get another member in Mai Satoda.

Mai Satoda

5th Gen Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika

In late 2002, the last 1st gen member Rinne Toda would graduate not only from Country Musume but from Hello! Project as well.

6th Gen Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika

In 2003, Country Musume experienced a big change in their lineup. First would be a new member, Miuna Saitou who was not from Hokkaido then Rika would leave the group but 2 other Morning Musume girls would take her place, Asami Konno and Miki Fujimoto who were both from Hokkaido.

Thus we come to the current Country Musume generation.

Miuna Saitou

Asami Konno

Miki Fujimoto

7th Gen Country Musume ni Fujimoto to Konno

Coconuts Musume theme is girls from Hawaii.

1st Gen Coconuts Musume
Ayaka Kimura, Mika Todd, Danielle Delaunay, April Barbaran and Chelsea Ching

Mid 1999, April and Chelsea left the group. They were finding it hard not being able to speak japanese. An audition was held to replace them and 1 new girl joined the group, Lehua Sandbo.

2nd Gen Coconuts Musume

In early 2001, Danielle left the group because she too felt it was too hard not being able to speak Japanese.

3rd Gen Coconuts Musume

Finally, in early 2002 Lehua left the group to continue her studies back in Hawaii. That left the group with only Mika and Ayaka as the current generation, both are fluent in Japanese and English. However, its been 2 years since their last single so Coconuts Musume is effectively dead although Mika and Ayaka are both still active in various groups like Mini Moni and Romans and they perform as Coconuts Musume at various H!P concerts.

4th Gen Coconuts Musume

in all the mini moni pics, i always find it hard to fit Mika in the pictures.. .. i find it hard to see the "Little kid cuteness" in her.however, i think she fit perfectly in the song which i believe is called "Crazy About You". its the song in the tokyo sports fest.

o yeah. ruroshin. what group is the one with the four cowgirls? at first, i thought that was country musume.. i didn't pay attention to their group name when they went tho..

Mika ain't cute. She's HOT.

Sometimes I wonder about Tsunku's stupid decisions. And how he tries to fit a girl into a certain image which totally backfires. Look at Mika in Coconuts Musume! Down right hot! And look at her in Telephone Rin Rin Rin, Hina Matsuri, RoknRoll, Kazoe Uta.... Darn that Tsunku Crazy

Another perfect example would be Risa Niigaki. Again, Tsunku tries to potray her as the cute little pigtail girl which she isn't. Risa's NOT AT ALL CUTE; SHE'S COOL. Try to imagine Risa in a rock-ish outfit, wearing an icy smirk instead of that stupid toothy grin. (Sorry I don't like her smile, and I'd say she's look 100000X better without smiling widely.) Man, that would be totally cool!!

1) Actually I don't really like Maki's albums, I prefer her singles, but I'm a fan of Maki so I'd buy even the lousiest album she can come up with. But I do like Genshoku GAL & Scramble when they came out earlier, and Daite yo! ain't half bad.... I don't like Uwasa no Sexy Guy though.

2) Try searching in cdjapan, yesasia, or other online shops etc.

3) Um, I believe T.W.O has had better success in sales (if I remember correctly) but I personally prefer First Kiss.

i think Risa isn't that bad when she smiles, but maybe she does belong in a slightly more alternative style of music than pop. but i say her smile is fine. i don't think her smile and her ponytail styles are because of Tsunku. i think she just likes that style.

cute but not exactly cute. she's Risa.. i can't say anything else. but then yeah.. i still think Mika belongs in mini moni, but i think she's in there because she's fluent in english.. and its for having some english lyrics within some songs that she is in mini moni..

[off topic from H!P stuff]: i don't know much about Retro G-Style, but i think they fit their group. they also have a non-japanese person in their group.
