UCHI AND KUSANO ARE ALREADY OUT OF NEWS!!!
johnny's jimusho has announced that the two members of NEWS, uchi hiroki and kusano hironori, will become trainees, apart from the group. johnny's jimusho stated that instead of being on stage, they will go through training.
uchi and kusano are going to start out from stratch. in johnny's jimusho, there are 150 "trainees" who practice their dancing and singing skills. many of them serve as back-up dancers to their senpais. however, these two will not be given this opportunity for a while. they will not return to NEWS, and as far as we are informed, they have been withdrawed from the group (WTF JOHNNY T_T). their schedules in the future are also blank.
uchi, who was 18 at the time, was caught drinking with kikuma announcer, and kusano was photographed drinking as well. in the past, johnny's jimusho has punished underage drinkers/smokers in a very strict manner, and it is the same for these two. there were rumours that they were even going to be fired from JE.
the two went to the main jimusho in tokyo numerous times, and have negociated. the remaining members of NEWS have also negociated many times for johnny's jimusho to allow them to work once again as a group.
at first JE stated"the two members have affected the other NEWS members and their work as well and will not be allowed to restart their work as a NEWS member". however in december JE has decided they will be allowed to "start out as trainees." JE also stated "the two are regretting what they have done and are willing to start over as trainees."
uchi and kusano debuted as NEWS members in 2003. the two have betrayed many fans. even though they are able to start over as trainees, debuting once again is not guaranteed. it is going to be a very tough start for both of them.

Well if youre eyes are decieving you, then mine are too! Cos I seriously believe its Uchi, I mean look at the shape of his face. I dunno, it might be the "hat" or whatever he has on him, he looks the same as in some honjani episodes... i think.
EDIT: Heh, I guess its not Uchi, if those news about Uchi and Kusano not being able to go back on stage or NewS is true... Why didnt Johnny just let Uchi come back earlier, I mean Kusano was not away nearly as long as Uchi. Its unfair, even though its nice that Kusa gets to be back in JE. If I was either of them, I might not want to return to JE after that. I mean they have to throw away all that work they made in the past "just" because of underage drinking. Too bad its Japan, in many other countries they wouldnt care about someone drinking. Though Uchi kicked some car, ahaha... Oh well. If it wasnt for 20 years age limit for drinking, but instead 18 (like in northern europe for example) Uchi would be off the hook. Blehh...

Yeah, it wasn't Uchi.^^; Exactly, why didn't Johnny let Uchi come back sooner? Make no sense. (He must be on crack or something.) True, if the age limit was 18, Uchi would be free! Except, it's 20... Bah~ *goes to a corner and skumps about Uchi and Kusano*
Well better than nothing, at least they're back.^^; I wonder if we'll be able to seen them often. Gosh, imagine if they were backstage dancers... I'll have to be looking at every JE performance just to find Kusano and Uchi. At least a glimspe of them.

accdg to him its a grieve offense so he sentenced them for a long period of punishment and reflection... ~~ i know its crap but hes really serious about his house rules...

So what exactly do the trainees have to do? Do they even get a slight publicity like being background dancers? Or do they just stay in closed quarters and overload themselves with dance, acting and voice lessons?
It sounds like Johnny initially never intended for Uchi and Kusa to come back. The article made it seem like he's doing them both a great favor to be trainees at the very least, after many pleas from the two as well as the group. I can just imagine Ryo doing numerous deep bows to Johnny
Being trainees are better than nothing, but I feel like there's only a small chance that the two are allowed to come back to the group. When the six remaining members continue their group activities, I'm afraid that fans will start to forget about Uchi and Kusa. Well, as long as NEWS and Kanjani8 won't have new member recruits, we can still have hope _________________

To me, what they did was serious, but, JE has gone overboard with their punishment, especially to Uchi. Things have been really unfair for him. Well, anyway, here's to hoping that they would return one day or another . I just keep telling myself, surely JE would prefer to be able to sell 8 different uchiwas on concert days instead of just 6... _________________

Sigh.. minna, it hasn't been released officially by Johnny the schedule of kusa and uchi right? I still think they will be back in NEWS because if they become background dancers they will steal all the spotlight of whatever group they are backdancing for ><
and yeah that guy isn't uchi.. he only looks like uchi in that particular scene.

Oy. I see you guys are still freaking out here. @_@ I for one really think it's gonna be OK. I mean, as trainees, from what I've heard, they won't be on TV or anything, just lots of practice and stuff. But I mean, they're gonna be with a bunch of little boys who are new to JE right? They won't fit in there at all. They'll totally stand out. They're both talented, I mean, they debuted already. So I think it's only a matter of time until they work there way back into their groups. This is my thinking anyway. And I really hope I'm right, because I adore Kusano and I'll be sooo sad if he doesn't come back to NEWS. But I really think he will, in time. But for now, let's support NEWS as they are. It may be a bit bittersweet, but I am SO happy that they're back!

hmm i guess there is a difference in the sense that although kusa and uchi were the only two who drank, the suspension for the whole group came as sort of a warning to the rest of the members to behave. NEWS as a group had to take responsiblitly for two of their members' acts.
read somewhere that for past JE members who drank/smoked they were fired immediately. So in comparison, kusa and uchi had it off light? And arghh.. everyone stop being pessimistic about the trainee thing, i'm getting more demoralized the more posts i see..
