maybe this thread should be lock.......if there isn't goin to be a 3, whats the point of thread???
well least this is what i keep wondering when i see this thread
Good point.
Actually, I was thinking about merging all the Gokusen threads into one... That would save people from having to jump from one thread to another, even though the basic discussion is about the Gokusen series...

I like it very much, but only the first season. I didn't like the second season, because the storyline was almost like in the first, only the students changed. _________________

This is one of the reasons why I keep procrastinating in watching the second one. I saw the anime right after the drama (first one) and it became too repetitious. I WILL watch G2, but after a long while, I'm guessing... _________________

Same for me. I watched the anime too after season one. I wanted to watch season two this summer, but I stopped at ep.7. How could they put Jin into this show? He's not Jun, and nobody can be as good as Jun!!! _________________

I agree! I have nothing against Jin, it's just the new characters are too similar to the original! Hayato and Rui put together were like Sawada Shin! There is only ONE Shin and NO ONE can replace him!! season 2 just seemed like a desperate attempt to reinvent the original characters! and on top of that, they also brought in actors who were more good-looking hoping to draw more attention Alot of people who are G2 fans told me that the reason they prefer season 2 is mainly because the casts are hotter! sure they may be hotter and more good-looking than the old 3-D class, but looks are NOT everything!
The casts in season 1 are much more likable, including the teachers, I also really like the school nurse as well. For the students, Sawada Shin is 4EVER de BEST!!! he is smart, intelligent, cool, very caring towards his friends, and sometimes he's cute too! He is the reason I fell in love with MatsuJun! But I also really love Kuma, Uchi, Noda, Minami and the rest of the class! not only is the friendship between the old students stronger, but like many people say to me, they seem to appreciate and respect Yankumi more! while Yankumi's new students in G2 in comparison are more distant from each other, and they seem to love and appreciate her less...some of my friends say that the ONLY advantage they have over the old class is that they are more "good-looking", the old class are way better overall, and I totally agree with them!
I first watched G1 back in 2004, and up till now I'm still very much obsessed with it! I re-watch it everyday! I watched G2 in 2005, but I wasn't happy with it at all, I wasn't paying much attention to it anyway, I kept on thinking about G1 and wanting so badly for the old class to come back! Especially my Sawada Shin! I only watched G2 ONCE and that's it...it was a huge disappointment for me
btw, I find it kinda weird that there are so many fans of Gokusen/MatsuJun/Arashi here at jdorama, but very few at asianfanatics! if anyone has spare time, please do drop by there, we desperately need more fans over there!

Hmm, sounds like I should change message boards.
no need to change it's just that there are so little fans at asianfanatics you know, so the Gokusen/Arashi/MatsuJun threads tends to get quite silent and inactive

my mistake was watching G2 after G1, now i can't stand the anime. it's like watching the same thing 3 times. there aren't many dorama/anime/shows i can watch over and over, and this isn't even close to being one of them.
