We Japanese do not think it a odd tooth.
Therefore, no one corrects it or get orthodontics.
I know you cannot understand but it is true.
To the opposite, I couldn't understand why American try to correct it,
when I knew you all had got orthodontics in childhood...
I gotcha.
But you can't say ALL Japanese believe in this (from The Kyodo News, 2006):
Aya Ueto, 20, is the recipient of the 12th annual Beautiful E-line Award, presented by the Japan Association of Adult Orthodontics. Past winners of the award, which is a PR effort to promote the importance of orthodontics, include Rie Miyazawa, Ryoko Yonekura and Hiromi Kuroki and Maki Mizuno.

Not all orthodontics are to make the teeth straight....... my son had an orthodontic plate to correct his bite and avoid having to have jaw surgery when he was older.
I like Erika-chan's "odd" tooth..... it's different.

Good !! Then I should have said ALMOST of Japanese, maybe ?
But PLS let me allow you to notice who is the sponsor of that award !!??
The PR for who ?? Who is beneficial ?
Money talks, you know !!
The dentists know that we are not interesting to get orthodontics !!
That's why they have to pay for that PR and promotion.

Let's just leave that issue alone. As you guys have said, its a cultural difference. Let's leave it at that and respect each other's culture.
Btw, FOX, any news lately? And can you confirm the Shota Matsuda rumor way back? I hate to bring these up but I've heard they're talking about this in the Filipino thread, so I just want to make it clear. What's the deal with that? And if the rumor is true, are they still an item?
