Japanese artists? As in J-pop or do you really mean general actors or actresses..... you can talk about either one here, I think.
Oh and I'm not Malaysian.
Though, I must say that my parents were born and raised there, same as my relatives. In fact, a lot of them still live there. I've been to that country twice in my lifetime, it's not that bad now. I can't speak Malay though, nor do I understand much of it at all, sorry about that.

hey there! I'm Malaysian but i dunno much about Jartists lolx.. i'm not that up-to-date wif the news and gossips and all.. All i know is that i'm really interested in the doramas and i love J-thingys!

Here is a brief introduction of them:
Members:
Takayo (Left after 2003) - Vocal/guitarist - Born in 1985
Miyu - Lead vocal/guitarist - Born in 1988
Mizuho - Drums/vocal - Born in 1986
Maiko - Bass guitar/vocal - Born in 1986
Tomoka - Vocal/guitarist - Born in 1986
They first debuted in 2001 and are a girl band from Hokkaido. They can play their own instruments as well as being able to sing and dance (to a lesser degree). They were members of a talent school in Sapporo called "Studio Runtime" and from there, since the studio has some ties with Sony Records, Zone soon became part of Sony Records. Their first single was "Good days", released in early 2001 and their latest album "N" is due out later on this month. Some recent songs that they did was "true blue", "boku no tegami" and "Sotsugyo".
Music style is more of a mix between pop rock. They are quite talented actually, considering that they have been around since 2001 and their lead vocalist, Miyu is only 15 as of now.
I'm not sure if they are that popular in Japan but they seem to be decent in terms of recognition and popularity. Come to think of it, they are all still in high school, I think they do go to school as well.
