I absolutely LOVE Ming-na Wen. Joy Luck Club is one of my favorite movies EVER. Mmm....Russell Wong is in that too He ain't bad at all!
I used to watch ER while she was in it, Street Fighter The Movie (hahaha as Chun Li, of course), and I vaguely remember her being in a soap opera, too. And I will never forget Vanishing Son (also with Russell Wong...I doubt anyone remembers that!). I must say she has more natural beauty than Lucy Liu by a longshot and I think Ming-na has some good acting ability. That picture though...whoa. I tend to see her look more plain in the face, but she's still very pretty
I dunno how Lucy Liu got to be so well known and popular. There aren't many Asian actors and actresses that make it really big here (like everyone knows their name) so she's one of the very few biggies I can think of for females. Ming-na unfortunately isn't as well known as Lucy Liu.

Joy Luck Club is a very good movie, but it stereotyped all Chinese men as being conniving and evil. Very stilted view, IMO.
Heh, I remember Vanishing Son and was really disappointed that it got canceled... Russell was quite good in that show... And Tamlyn Tomita's several guest appearances were mighty fine too.

She's the Asian Flavor of the Month. She got some notoriety from Ally McBeal and parlayed it into some stardom... She'll be off the radar before you know it...

Yeah, my friend had an intern who was from Japan. Anyways, the intern was staying with (renting a room from) Kelly Hu's parents up in Nuu'anu. (I think it was Nuu'anu at least).
Kelly Hu is hot. No doubt.
Don't mean to dis, but she's duff compared to "Chun Li". (IMO)
it's just the old trilogy, without extra features or anything. Basically just another way to get our money. But SW's going down the sewer anyway, the prequels are just sad and partly completely stupid with really bad actors. Lucas shouldn't have done those.
worst things in the prequels:
Annie Skywalker (two actors who can't act and a whiney character even worse than Luke)
Padme (what's her use again? Compared to Leia she's a panzy, and I think she's the elf in the prequels, all pretty but useless; and Portman can't act anymore, she was great with Reno in "Leon"; but nowadays... she's getting old)
Idiotic Jedi (I always thought Jedi were cool, but after Episode 2 I think they're idiots. First they send the senator to Naboo protected with only a stupid padawan, cause she'll be safer that way than on a planet filled with Jedi knights and masters, d'oh; and in the end they charge into the arena like idiots without a plan to get out. Of course they get surrounded and violate any law of combat that way; And who put Yoda in charge of the clone troopers? Sure he's a jedi master, but that doesn't qualify him as field commander. Also somebody tell my why Obi Wan isn't using the force when fighting Jango...)
One word: Gungans... (WTF did Lucas think with those?! They're not cute, they're not funny, what's their purpose?!)
Good things in the prequels:
Ian MacDermid (Hail to the emperor! "I love democracy, I love the republic" )
Ewan MacGregor (he even sounds like Alec Guinness by now "This weapon is your life!")
Samual L. "Bad Mofo" Jackson (he really should say that his lightsaber has "bad mofo" written on it)
and finally the cutest Jedi of all time: Bultar Swan (played by Mimi Daraphet)
Prequels can't beat the Han and Chewie Show, Vader's trademarked forcechoke or even Luke's whining, they just slack off and land behind all other trilogies of movie history. For the prequels I have to say George Lucas is possessed by Ed Wood and I'm not going to watch Episode 3 in the cinema. SW has lost it's magic. Thus I'm not going to waste my money on the DVD set of an edition I already have on tape. I'll spend the money on the new SGC DVD set.
and for the files... Spock is the ONLY real vulcan; Tuvok, T'Pol (the tentpole) are just cheap imitations of The Great Spock!

Oh wells, that's life.
Gotta give Lucas some credit though. Sequels are crap compared to the originals, more or less prequels.
I for one, thought the prequels were cool. The story lines, not so much. But the action scenes and better sound/viewing quality.
I'm not as hard on ol' George as most of you guys are... He started off so strong and set the bar so high that there was no place to go but down... You guys are complaining now, but once Episode 3 has come and gone, you'll be moaning about having Episodes 7-9 made sometime in the future...

LOL, Vanishing Son and JLC shared a lot of stars, huh?? But yeah, VS was damn cool. I loved that show. They never even put it on sale or anything....frickin' TV only. WTF????
A while back I saw a movie on cable with Chi Muoi Lo in it (from Vanishing Son) and it also starred Lauren Tom who played Lena in JLC and Kieu Chinh who played June's mom in JLC. It was a comedy and kind of a weird storyline, but I got a huge kick out of it.....it was pretty funny. They were Vietnamese in this one, which Chi Muoi Lo and Kieu Chinh really are, but I have no clue about Lauren Tom's true ethnicity.
I wish I could see more stuff with the lady who played Auntie Lindo. She was a trip and a half.

Let's hope so. I'm not thrilled by her performances...and as a girl, I am not looking for female eye candy, if she even counts as that.

I meant the "basic movie and then, sequel formula". Where sequels are nothing compared to the originals. And then, more or less prequels.
But Star Wars far exceeded that. Which is why I'm giving props to Lucas.
I enjoy watching it though. That's one of the movies in which I can watch over and over again.
Not many movies had sequels that surpassed the original.
