sorry, i didn't mean that you've not left the country. just that i know people who've never been abroad all their lives. Mr Green

Yea, if I'm stuck at home for the next five years, I'm definitely gonna take advantage of the living situation. And because I can organize these trips through school, I won't even have to pay for them. Mind you, I'll have students tagging along and little freedom when I get to the country, but still, it's something. I've told a few kids about Japan and they're really excited. Smile

Summary of trip to Japan:

- 5 days is way too short
- I didn't get to try kaitenzushi
- It's cool in November... next time I'll try March
- Pics will follow
- Going back next year (I have to...I can't go cold turkey)

For those going to Japan after March (ahem, Q) and plan to arrive at Narita, check out the special Narita Express+Suica special. For Y3500, you get a ticket to Tokyo on the Narita Express and a Y1500 credit using the Suica card.

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/suica-nex/index.html

On March, the PASMO system will be online which will allow you to use the Suica card on JR and subways in the Tokyo area. This card is a contactless card....no more magnetic tickets. It's awesome.

i always remember the first day at school. the teacher writing my name on the board then introducing me to class. i could only say a handful of words!
i was 9 and at that age and you pick things up very quickly. by the time i left to go back to england i was fluent in writng and speaking.
unfortunately i've forgotten alot of it now but i pick it up whenever i go over.

i really enjoyed living there and i always feel at home when i'm there. my father who's english still lives out there.
