ew ew ew!! i'm so glad that smap graduated from those awful AWFUL clothes! the sad thing is, i was watching 2 concert dvds for tokio, one from 2002 and one from 1999 and i totally forgot about the awful costumes and the "let's put as MANY johnnys JR that will fit on stage and more!" thing... dear lord. even in 2002 tokio had horrible costumes and some juniors i'm fine with juniors being back dancers but when there's 50 of them and only 5 members of the actual group... i find that overkill. thankfully i haven't seen tokio in horrible costumes lately which makes me happy. _________________

It's expected, there's no way they will air the new MS, after all they've just aired MSSL a couple of weeks ago...Jan 19th is not bad at all, I was actually expecting something from right after MSSL... _________________

i agree that smap are more entertainers and not really musicians. music is a part of their entertainment but it's not their main goal. their main goal is to make fans happy and if that involves music then they'll do it. so that's why i don't really mind that they're not the best singers and can't dance in sync. anyways, even with all those flaws, they still manage to put out good songs and keep their fans happy.
Has anyone watched the TOILET PAPER MAN performance by all members of SMAP in SxS ending song, March 1st, 2004? (not the one in FNS)
I just thought it was SUGOI. They sang horribly, and I do mean HORRIBLY. But the performance was VERY ENTERTAINING! LOL! They were definitely just making fun of Nakai's solo song, even Nakai himself is making fun of his silly solo song. They didn't rap and sing properly and looked like they're just having fun. But the whole performance is NOT messy, at all. It is somehow, very much watchable and enjoyable. And really, very entertaining.
It is probably one of the example of what you said, Ellena: "their main goal is to make fans happy and if that involves music then they'll do it."
SMAP can perform a comedy while singing a song. And I have not seen, any other artiste who can do that in one performance^^ .....yet.
I really hope all of you have watched this, so you know what I mean^^
Qnuy didn't like that performance, because she thinks it was horrible. But the way I think of that performance, is just like how I mentioned above, heehee.... It was really, really funny!!! One of my favorite!^^ _________________

Inju is...Edogawa Rampo something something? An Akechi Kogoro SP right? Man, I almost fell asleep watching that ~_~
Can you give me a synopsis of the story, gshock?
It turned me off completely, esp. when Goro did S&M scene with that old lady Why did Goro kept being paired up with old ladies in his earlier days?? With X-rated scenes too!
Really yokattaaaa... that he eventually falls for someone younger in real life _________________

I have seen K8 performing comedy while singing a song! *Eito Renja comes to mind* And the fact that they are all good singers really heighten that up
I LOVE TOILET PAPER MAN perf on SmaSma! I really do, showed the fun side of them _________________

Oh man, that's one of my favorite ending song performances, too. It really was spectacularly entertaining. Shingo's eye make-up, Goro's yelling (you can hear the staff laughing afterwards), and Tsuyoshi's failed back flip...so funny.

ahaha, oh how i love toilet paper man. it's amazing that nakai can sing at such a fast pace. but that was 3 years ago. now, in the recent utaban karaoke special, he had to slow down the tempo. it's such a stretch for goro to rap or even yell. he's too gentle!! even tsuyoshi can yell but with goro he just seems out of place. _________________

"Eito Renja"? Somehow it reminds me of Otosenshi no Ranger, Otomatsu-kun, or sumthin' like that...one of SMAP's skit song in Yume ga MoriMori^^ Did the Kansai boys put on costumes like Otomatsu-kun, too??

Deshooo~~! Haha...and Goro's big smile after he screamed out!! Priceless!^0^ I sooo love Kimura and Shingo's outfits too! I just hope Goro and Tsuyoshi put on something like that too! xD
Love, love, love how Kimura perform his raps...and Shingo too!! And Tsuyoshi's Korean rap! Since WHEN there's a Korean rap in Nakai's Toilet Paper Man?? LOL! Special for Tsu, ne!
And I laughed the hardest during certain Nakai moment, where he's singing or was he screaming?? Like he's using his throat to the max....its soooo funny!!!
Also, also! How Kimura-Goro were back to back, or facing each other and acting like they're playing guitars and moving their heads to the right and left just like they're really rockin' all the way!! xD
And yeah...Tsuyoshi's failed backflip! I'm amused at how Shingo just laughed at Tsuyoshi, in a hidoi way... And only Nakai asked him, "Daijoubu? What were you doing?"
Loooooved the overall performance!! Felt like... "Now, this IS Smap!!" _________________

Yup, the Eito Renja song is their themesong for the 8 Rangers conto during their concerts, I think they sang it the first time around last year during the FTON tour, but the 8 Rangers have been around since 2005...They wore these kind of suits with their colors (note that K8 are the only other JE group with permanent colors besides SMAP)...But this Eito Rangers are now permanent fixtures in their cons, with different plots & storylines that I think if they ever compiled it into a DVD it will be a big hit in the eito fandom The concerts are getting longer these days with the introduction of 8 Rangers, and lately they also have 7 Okans (based on their Osaka Obachan ROCK single where they dress up as Osakan mothers and play games in their TV show Honjani). _________________

Yes Arashi also have their own colors but it's not made official. I'm not a big Arashi fan, but they don't really sell different-colored penlights at cons do they? SMAP & K8 have these colors ever since they started, and I think the other groups only have colors just to differentiate between them (and also to make it easier for staff on which mike to turn on or off during cons for instance). They're not referred to their colors, while SMAP & K8 refer to their colors all the time. _________________

I think those were their colors during the senryu specials on G no Arashi and Shukudai-kun, too.
Speaking of colors, was their ever an official explanation on Goro and Nakai switching Pink and Blue. Obviously in Bistro Goro is blue and Nakai is pink but I noticed in Skateboys skits Goro will have blue laces and Nakai will wear pink and there have been other cases wear Nakai will be pink and Goro will be blue. Any reason?

hmm i don't know, even in mori mori, nakai was blue and goro was pink. i guess that's how they started off but then decided they wanted to switch when they got older? but i think pink suits nakai more and blue for goro _________________

Edogawa Rampo is the name of the author. I wonder if the second Goro/Akechi Kogoro had sexual content in it, too. I've heard nothing about it besides seeing it listed in Goro's filmography.
Has anyone heard anything about Goro's live theatre performances? Is he considered to be a good dramatic actor in plays? I know he likes doing them a lot.

duh i'm retarded. my mother would hit me if she knew i made that mistake about edogawa ranpo lol. sadly i just basically know the names akechi kogoro and kindaichi kousuke but very little about both detectives. I just know basics about both of them, and the fact that goro chan played both of them and then nagase and matsuoka from tokio were in a drama special called "Akechi kogoro vs kindaichi kousuke".
I have footage of him when he performed "Hiroshima ni genbaku wo otosu hi" and everyone's comments were really good and what they showed that I saw, i was very much impressed. _________________
EVERYONE LOOK AT THE TOP 50 ARTISTE CHART. MOST OF THE JE ARTISTES ARE GONE
KIMURA, JUN AND YAMAPI..
Oops! They restored it. I read it in the News thread and was shocked when i saw Matsushima Nanako topping the list, with Matsu Takako at #4! OH well.
Speaking of Matsu Takako, Kimura mentioned in WUS recently that Hero's filming is starting soon and that he is going to buy the Hero staff some kind of food. Has it started yet???? Can't wait.
