i detest this film.

reason: i cannot quite put it candidly yet, but i found the film offensive and repulsive on the whole; could have something to do with hirosue playing both mother and daughter. there is something very false and pretentious going on here. definitely a hirosue vehicle taken to extremes.

*SPOILERS************
*SPOILERS************
*SPOILERS************

perhaps it has something to do with the ending? when it is revealed that the mother had hardly passed away and that she was merely impersonating her daughter so as to let her husband get on with his life?! certainly an insult to the dead daughter whom the mother wanted to keep alive in the first place through keeping her body alive -- bizarre -- and an insult to the audience who has to go 15 rounds with the mother pretending to be the daughter waking up from her deep sleep ... urghhhh! only to find urghhhhhhh!

if this is the film i think you all are talking about, i don't know what i can say about it. it's the one where the mother and daughter got into car accident den the girl died but the mother soul in her body?

it's sad and all but i was kinda confused somewhere towards the end. i'd give it a 7/10, not a high rating but not low neither

Ah heehe.. that bad, was sorta looking forward to watching it, I've been obsessed with Ryoko (dunno why!) Just the kidn of person she is and how she acts, different people, different opinions. Haven't watched "Himitsu" yet, hoping to get it though, and see if it matches up with your opinions. I think I'm gonna watch for the only reason which is to see Ryoko act in a different character. I guess like the daughter-mother combination into one person vs. the father/husband can be sorta replusive. HOWEVER! I'll just watch it incase I regret I didn't, thanks a lot for your opinion, it helped me understand more about this drama =)

I agree with the 7/10 rating, not to be construed as bad. It's worth watching, especially if you like Ryoko (I do). I did find it confusing towards the end regarding whether it was really the daughter or the sister. It's mostly a lot of slow, quiet drama. Spoiler summary: Bus runs off the road, mother and daughter are in the hospital, mother dies, but her spirit takes the body of her daughter. So the father has to live with his wife being in his daughter's body and the mother gets to be young again. The drama revolves around what this does to their marriage.
