i bought the second movie the other day and the subs make me giggle since it was tranlated from korean (i dont get it but whatever). its SO funny!!! light's name translates to right and ryuzaki is now dragon man or something like that.... and misa's name is like.... shinning sea when i watch it again ill let you guys know.
LOL Dragon man?? Man, he sounds so much cooler now. From Light to Right, it must be some kind of message to the viewer... lol I hope L doesn't translate to like Fire Hero or something like that jk jk

Doesn't everyone love L? I always thought we should tally the votes on who likes who more. Despite the reason behind Light's actions, I'm always FOR justice. Go L! Super Detective L, that's what i'll call him.
The ending I guess was kinda inevitable but all good movies have dramatic endings! I felt more sad for L than I did for Light. Anyone else agree? I thought the end of his story was worse than for his nemesis.

yeah, me too Since they didn't follow the plot of the manga/anime for the (second) movie, and yet they still did well.

In the manga, after L dies, new characters come up (i.e., Matt, Mello, and Near, plus some others) to take over the name "L" and the story gets a little too complicated. There were even times when I yawned reading the part of the manga after L dies. *also probably because of the fact that after L dies, I got sad cuz I fell in love with L at first sight XDDDDD* But in the movie, they never mentioned that Rem's a woman shinigami.

I cried at the end, especially when L said that the saddest part of the investigation was losing Watari.

My favorite scene was at the end when the police guy goes to apoligize to L (cause L is the greastest!) and then L is just really sad eating his chocolate bar~ Afterwards, we know L is going to die and then he dies peacefully next to his photo of Watari =( saddness X20 Dang man, what a crazy way to go out. I admire his heroism in writing his own name in the death note. Even Light was afraid Misa would write his name in the Death Note but L was not scared one bit.
The part your screencapped was funny! Kinda threw me off tho. I thought he wasn't scared of anything. I guess Shingami really got to him.. Btw, are you people girls?
Just watched the last name too. I think they did a pretty well job even if they changed the ending a little bit. Same here never liked Light and idolized L since the start. I have a "watashiwa eru desu!!!" message alert tone to match my death note theme on my phone.
I beleieve there is a prequel to these two movies coming next year which will feature L during his earlier cases and it will also feature the whammi?(did I spell it right?) house where the mentally gifted are trained by watari for investigative purposes. Can't wait to see that one.

I still collect the manga (I buy it in English I've been a good girl and not read the scanlations which is what I usually do lol) I have up to volume 10 so far

I don't enjoy it as much now L is dead. I thought his death in the movie was better than his death in the manga, it was cooler. His death in the manga was a complete shock and it left a bitter taste cos Light had basically won *makes a face* I'm not really a big fan of Near he's like an L copy but nowhere near as cool, Mello's ok but he's got a bit of a dark streak. I still enjoy the manga but Light seems to have dumbed down a bit since L died... or maybe that's just me. He seems to slip up more often. Anyway L is well loved and with good reason YAY ^_^

I SO agree with you. When L died in the manga I 'lost strength' to carry on reading... you're right, it left a bitter taste. Although Matt and Mello are really smexy, no one replaces L in my heart. And Near?
Like what Regina said in Mean Girls, he's "a less-hot version" of L. xDDDD
