Ring's Hideo Nakata to Helm Death Note Spinoff

Ken'ichi Matsuyama to reprise the role of L in 2008 release
Variety has confirmed a Sankei Sports report that Hideo Nakata, director of several Ringu movies including the first, will now direct the Death Note spinoff movie tentatively titled "L." His last completed film was the ghost story Kaidan, and producers are planning the Death Note spinoff for a 2008 release.
Ken'ichi "Matsu-Ken" Matsuyama has already signed on to reprise his role of L, the detective adversary of the Death Note main lead Light. Producer Takahiro Satô announced that the staff is "aiming for a big hit in America with the teamup of Nakata and Matsu-Ken." Production will begin in August, with a teaser trailer set to begin showing in Japanese theaters on April 14. _________________

The phesant killing was an accident (I was sad enough to cry for hours later ) I was driving down a 60mph road and there was a car up my boot, so when the phesant came running out of the bushes I couldn't stop because the car behind me woulda gone into the back of me, it was horrible
And yay I'm liking the sound of this L prequel _________________

Domo minna, I just want to say I love Death Note 1 and 2 and I'm happy there is going to be a prequel or what ever you call it scheduled for release in 2008. I can't seem to get enough of the movie, I've watched it several times and I love both L and Light. I'm ordering the manga just to keep up. Love all your postings on death note the movie. _________________

Btw, my japanese friend I talked to said he didn't like the ending of lastname too much. He said he liked Light as well darn it! Betrayl.

provoke Remu (Misa's shinigami) to do that.. becoz he wants to kill Remu
as well.. He is the one who should die in the first place..

I preferred it in the movie though because L outsmarted Light rather than the other way around YAY ^_^ still very sad in the end. I think I've said before in this thread but I'll reiterate I don't enjoy the manga as much without L T_T
