Yup. When I first learned hiragana, I started to read stuff on signs and packages all time. I felt like I was 6 years old and started to read again.

Haha, but that's the fun part!
I expect I'll be doing a lot of that when I go to Japan this summer I have to learn katakana by then, but 4 every day does the trick!

For some reason that applet doesn't work for me. It either displays nothing, or just a bunch of lines... :/

I'll do a little search later...

I have a feeling I'll have a slightly harder time memorizing katakana, as they look more alike
At least to me, now... When I haven't really studying them... Hehe... Ganbarimasu!

Will people make fun of you if you write characters with the wrong strokes? I self-studied both kanas and was never aware that there's a certain way of writing characters! Like there are strokes i have to follow. I don't like writing in Japanese in front of ppl because I'm kinda nervous that they might comment on me doing all the wrong strokes. I mean, for me it's the same as long as the kana turns out right, ne?

Same with me..never follow the correct order..showing it to people after finish writing
At least I can read it _________________
