Another drama sitting on my HD with nowhere to go.
Interesting plot.... good cast (Ryoko Shinohara is very believeable - and very attractive, Eita is his usual, messy-haired self and the rest are good too)... only the subs I have are a bit dodgy.

Probably. It's hard to complain when they are doing it as a free service, but when you hear a whole sentance of dialogue and the subtitle just says "that" or something like that. it's a bit frustrating

It happens.
Better that than having a bunch of dialog cover up the entire scene (it happens in Warau Mikaeru)...

talking about cute Ken-chan (what's his real name again?),
I've just finished another dorama of his. an TV Asahi special dorama, called something like (forgot, rented it) Akechi nantoka VS Kindaichi nantoka about some serial killer. stars Nagase Tomoya, Masahiro, Rina Uchiyama, and Horikita Maki.
not that i'd recommend it to anyone, but... _________________

I finished Rainbow Song just before midnight (3 hours ago) and hit the sack. However the scenes were still playing in my head so I thought I'd dump my thoughts here to get a better night's sleep.
Juri-sama's character, Satou Aoi, was a university student-cum-movie enthusiast who fell in love with a common, wishy-washy fellow student. I supposed that's why rainbow was the title of this movie - it's a colourful mirage, just like a movie.
The plot took a leisurely pace - but most certainly not boring. What the range of Juri-sama's artistic expressions - comical, intimidating, frantic, melancholic. Never in any of her previous work has Juri-sama displayed such a wide range of emotions.
Highly recommended, whether or not you are a Juri-sama fan.

It looks to be a heartbreakingly sad movie.
Actually I don't find it very sad. It is, however, a very suitable platform for Juri-sama to show off her thespian abilities. The focus of the story was actually on the leading actor, Ichihara Hayato, who got the most screen time. However the supporting cast were not at all bad - Aoi Yuu, Suzuki Ami, Sasaki Kuranosuke, Konihata Fumiyo.

I think I read that Aoi Yu won an award for this movie...
