Urluzers: I'm in Kobe.. but only a short train ride away from Osaka.

In regards to :

I think that no matter what I say about this 'wa' stuff Nismo will always be thinking it is used mostly by women and gay men.. so i really can't be bothered arguing it anymore..

Oh well, i guess it will add to your 'experiences in Japan' eh Nismo? That is, when you state your opinion to a Kansai guy about ''..

heh.

Kobe is nice...you live near Sannomiya? Been out that way a few times, shopping in that tunnel strip of stores under the train station, and to the Chinatown area and what not.

You can't compare the Japanese with an English equivalent.
What Moccona was trying to say is that it is not assumed so in Kansai, unlike where it is in Kanto. Simply because the dialects are so different.

I am familiar with kansai-ben as well, just not as familiar as I am with tokyo-ben. (nantoka yade, wakarahen, etc.)

Just think of this as an addition to your Kansai-ben terms. Smile

I understand that they use "wa" in kansai, but do they use it coupled with, specifically, the word ureshii?

Yes, it's been said before.

My gf's nephew just loves the Hankyu train. (He's 3) He's got the models and all kinds of train stuff. He lives in Nishinomiya.

How long were you in Japan? God how I miss it! Maybe when I go towards the end of the year, we could meet up and have a drink?! Drunk hehe
Sorry, I don't do karaoke though. (Unless if you've got some earplugs)

HI! Kawaii means cute/adorable. (Y'know, girly stuff like that)
Your name in Japanese would just be in Katakana imitating your real name. Nothing special, so to speak. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Oh, and nice font color! Big Grin

For questions on Japanese, I usually ask people to post in this thread.

Doesn't matter how old you feel. Age will catch up to you whether you feel 60 or are 60.

Dudes, it has nothing to do with age: There just isn't enough contrast between red and blue, so it's hard to read...
