Cause j-dramas are awesome! They have more substance than any other tv-show in the world (in my opinion). However, I think a majority of Japanese movies aren't too good.
Btw, I went to Kino today and got Kindai, streetjack and myojo (she has her own comic in there) which has maki in it. While i was looking at mags, I saw that a lot of magazines had Maki on the cover. The ratings are bad yet she's getting a lot of cover appearances? Actually, right now she's on more covers than any other girl I can think of at the moment.

Man seems like everyone is in the magazines you've grabbed LOL
Yea, I might as well post on Emi Suzuki, Riko Narumi and .... I'll stop. Not to mention that all these mags are made up of 80% boys. What if I started posting on boy band threads...

As for me, I think the reason why jdoramas are addictive because it has only 10 or more episodes compared to other country's series.
And since the episodes are just few...the events and scenes are all important , there's no unnecessary scenes. The flow of story and phasing is faster that's why they don't tend to get draggy.
But I'm not saying that all jdoramas are addictive because there's also some that just focus on sad and too serious events. It also depends on the theme of the story. If it's a comedy, drama, action etc.
About Maki Horikita's Seito Shokun, i think it depends on the viewer.
It won't be a draggy series if you're a deep thinker as FERINE said.
But If you're looking for a comedy since it's a school drama...better not expect more from SS because it's a serious story that can possibly happen in real life. However, you can learn many lessons in life in this series.

The rumors of a live-action "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e" series have finally been confirmed. The drama, which has been given the subtitle "Ikemen Paradise," will air every Tuesday at 9:00pm on Fuji TV, starting on July 3. Maki Horikita, Shun Oguri, and Toma Ikuta have been cast in major roles.
The drama is based on the popular manga of the same name by Hisaya Nakajo, which has already been dramatized in Taiwan. Horikita plays the protagonist Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese girl in the U.S. who one day sees the young athlete Izumi Sano (Oguri) compete in the high jump on television. She begins to idolize him, and decides to move to Japan to attend the same school as him. However, Izumi goes to an all-boys school, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy to achieve her dream of being with her idol.
Toma plays the part of Shuichi Nakatsu, a classmate and friend of Mizuki and Izumi.

oh boy! Another manga based drama. It seems like manga based shows are the new hit like Superhero movies
And she plays a boy???? It's similar to Yui Aragkaki's drama except her mind is switched with boys.
