Home ownership.
I wanted the house to be cooler this summer.
I call in a guy to check my ducts, and find out that it's all pretty useless. He's also concerned about the A/C unit. It is, after all, 35 years old.
Okay, get a new one. Getting new ducts, might as well have a new, more powerful, energey efficient A/C.
Oh, but he has to pull the old furnace to put in the new A/C, so might as well get a new furnace that's up to code, and will work better with the new A/C.
Oh, and did I mention that the ducts are covered with asbestos? Well, that will have to go. But you'll have to call someone else to do that.
Two weeks of phone calls with abatement companies, trying to arrange to get the asbestos taken out.
Finally it's about to happen!!!
A/C guy says great, but it's the Memorial Day weekend and he won't be albe to start until next Wednesday.
So I loose all my duct work on Thursday, and now that the days are going up to the 90sF, I won't have any A/C for about a week and a half.
And then there's the money.
Ah, the American Dream. _________________
