Just finished!
My Review: 10/10
Wowc
I had no expectations for this drama. I actually dove right into it after finishing another drama. What attracted me to it was the list of actresses involved. All other knowledge of the basis of the show was limited.
I have never before seen a drama focused on the struggle of women. What a depressingc yet uniquely inspirational selection of stories! With just four episodes, each one stands alone. Each one features a female struggling through life.
There is a moral in each story, and at the end something is resolved. I thoroughly enjoyed the second episode, starring Horikita Maki, but it was Ueno Jurifs final episode that really gripped my heart. I was in tears, and even now, after having finished it, I can sense her loneliness and yearning. She is definitely a strong, solid actress | and worthy of all our votes!
All four actresses (Ueto Aya, Horikta Maki, Yamada Yu, and Ueno Juri) were superb, and managed to take each powerful plot and make it their own story.
A fabulous drama. I canft wait to start part two! |
Ohh! I've only watched Aya Ueto's lol. So you're going to watch Satomi, Erika, etc. next? Glad you liked the series. My mom saw it and she liked it too XD

I'm having a hard time with this. The actors who are the best, but the story sucks and taking place mostly in just one dining room gets very tedious. If it were not for Abe and Yada Akiko I would have abandoned this around ep 3 if not sooner. |
Sounds like a lot of you don't like this drama. I have to TOTALLY disagree. I'd give it a 8/10 or 9/10. I think it's all about preference but the show has great acting and unique stories for each episode. It has a more heart-warming feeling about bringing people back together with food. A quite original idea I'd say. I enjoyed watching each episode, but if you're forcing yourself to watch a drama you dislike then I'd stop watching it.

Episode 4 is the one worth watching... With a real actress.

After watching the inimitable Honma Mon which also revolves around food and a female chef, anything else can only be subpar. My Little Chef is just a non story trying to make a story with limited sets IMO ... how long can you watch the same 5 tables beyond one hour. After a while it begins to feel like a doctors waiting room where you are waitng for hours... I have never been one for watching an actor perform on a single set no matter how good he/she is... that's just plain boredom to me.

Well it's the story that attracted me. It might always be the same setting but I thought the director did very well at creating different interesting elements on each episode and it all comes back to that same restaurant. After all, the whole show is based on the performance of that restaurant. Besides, the actors are all popular/experienced (even at that time), so I doubt the show was made to cheat its way through ratings.

You should get all four. They each stand alone but each story is powerful. I'm gonna watch the second set of four tonight. Satomi-chan and Toda Erika have their own.

They're only 35 minutes long. It's worth it to watch all four.
