Definitely, your reviews were very good...I hadn't thought of the ALoTO parallel for Hula Girl, but it was spot on...I've always considered Hula Girl as kind of the dark version of Swing Girls.
The dark version of Swing Girls? I didn't see that, but then again, I was fixated on the ALoTO aspect.
Have you seen Swing Girls? If not, we can work something out... I'm dying for some pineapple...
I skimmed through your review, but I'm going to read your review as soon as I post this. I also write reviews on my LiveJournal, but they're not as good as yours looks.
As for Swing Girls, Animedad sent me the movie, but thanks for the offer! I promise you next time that I'll try to find a pineapple to keep you company.

Definitely welcome... Particularly if they're rational and not just blatherings about an actor/actresses...
Ok, sounds cool. But I hope that I don't find some actor to go fangirly over or else I think I'll be in trouble, eh?

beem's been spreading the Seikei Bijin love, huh?
More like trying to spread the Ryoko-chan love.

Glad you liked the movies, cori-chan. I'll see if I can make a list of what else I have
That would be awesome! I really enjoyed the movies, so I would love to see more.

Back on topic, I'm on Seikei Bijin episode 4, I think. I've been too distracted by other things (my site, TR Anniversary) to take notice of which one I'm on. _________________

Watched ep 8 of Liar Game last night and really enjoyed it, looking forwards to episode 9 (looks like it's gonna be good from the preview) _________________
Thanks! I like reading the reviews from other members too. But at the same time, it's hard to find the reviews among all the chatter. I wonder if there's a drama review thread somewhere...
There wouldn't be a point, because reviews are written as part of the profile's info, so one can search there. Plus, I usually just post my review in the drama's thread, where people who watch/are interested in the drama usually hangout.
On Topic: Gonna watch Waterboys 2 epi 2. _________________

I knew the ending from reading spoilers in the AP thread, but I'm still a lil sad that Youko and Shota's relationship wasn't resolved... I wonder if they'll make anymore? Ah well, I'd be happy if they do but I'm not gonna lose any sleep if they don't

Good point. But not if the review is about a movie which might not be featured on this site. STMB for instance. Or maybe there's a movie review thread I haven't found yet? _________________

Ohhhhhh good point. I wonder if there is a movie review thread...
Tho, to encourage more discussion, you could just make a STMB thread, or whatever movie thread, like they did for Swing Girls. _________________
I enjoyed it much more than Orange Days... Abe Hiroshi was brilliant and near-unwavering in his role. and I was equally impressed with Natsukawa Yui's (award winning) performance... Overall, an 8.5/10.

It is a truly great drama...the subtlety of the humor amazed me...
what amazed me even more was that I was able to appreciate that subtle humor despite living in a different country & speaking a different language...
my hat is off to the actors and to the subbers... _________________
I have to update my list..
currently watching..
Liar Game -- Episode8
Hotelier -- Episode7 (d/ling 8 right now )
Jigoku Shoujo -- Episode4
Joudan Ja Nai! -- Episode4
and lastly Proposal Daisakusen! -- Episode8.
You can tell from the list that I'm following the new shows week by week. There's just too much great jdorama not to be missed.
well, my sister is watching Bambino.. Not a fan of Matsumoto Jun. So I'll give it a miss.

I enjoyed it far more than Orange Days as well. One of my all-time favs. _________________
Hmm, I don't know if it's one of my all-time favs... I usually reserve that term for dramas I can watch over and over again...
Next up: Kirakira Kenshui.
It's one of mine. I find the ones that I watch over and over are the random few, like Brother Beat, that I don't think are perfect and stand well against classics, but still enjoyable.
I re-watched some of Brother Beat last night, actually. Gotta hit Waterboys 2 again. _________________
