You need to be a bit more specific: Comedy? Serious Drama? Crime Drama?

as for drama after 2005, I've some that I thought were good:
1. Hana Yori Dango
2. Taiyou no Uta, eventhough it is diseased-person drama but it is focused more in the characters's relationship
3. Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, all about love story drama
4. Proposal Daisakusen, it is still on air now
eventhought u might preffered after 2005 drama, there are 2 titles that i thought were masterpiece:
1. Beautifull life: absolutely sweet and cute love story
2. Orange days

Or maybe old dramas = bad dramas. _________________

That would be a hasty generalization.

Hello everyone!
I haven't been on the board in a while but I am serching for some really funny "gut busting" crazy comdies to watch. I am seriously in the mood to laugh!
As for what I consider funny I have seen and loved :
Densha Otoko
My Boss, My Hero
Himitsu no Hanazono
Gal Circle
Kimi Wa Petto
Gokusen
HYD 1 & 2 (it had funny moments IMO!)
Trick (I am in the middle of it and it has some funny moments)
I absolutely could not get into :
Nodame Cantible
Nobuta Wo Produce (It was okay IMO)
I don't mind silliness if it is done well (ala Gal Circle) but I would love to see something as funny as Densha Otoko or My Boss My Hero! If it is subbed in English even better!
Any recommendations???

I recommend a funny and a good one:
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko
Attention Please
Lunch no juuo
I think u should try the three of them, but if u can stand the sillyness of Gal Circle u might also like
Anna-san no Omame

That's o.k. we all have different tastes. Everybody was raving about how great Tiger and Dragon was. I gave up about half way thru episode 3. It's supposed to be a comedy, but up to that point I hadn't laughed once, didn't really like or understand either of the lead characters. @ Monta: o.k. even if you didn't like Beautiful Life I think you should still try Long Vacation another Kimura drama, great cast, and not anything at all like Beautiful Life

Thank you Steve!
I was looking at the description of Kekkon Dekinai Otoko last night and was debating if I should try it or not. (I think Hiroshi Abe is cool!)
I will definitely look into the others as well!
As for Nodame......
I watched up to the middle of episode 4 and I still want my brain cells back from that experience... LOL
To each his own but I don't think I even cracked a smile watching it. I just couldn't "get it" and it was too 'cartoonish' for my liking.

Unbelievable.
And Gokusen wasn't cartoonish?
Oh well.

i think cool is not appropriate for him, but he is a brilliant actor
He is very convincing there, as he was the real Kuwano-san (his name in this drama).

the cartoonish thing indeed a bit anoying but overall it is a good drama for me, even yet i haven't finish it.. it get interesting in third ep, but u said u didn't like it till ep 4.. maybe not ur cup of coffee.
