Well first thing first...sorry for not posting for sooo long. Can't use the com for the last month.Sorry guys...

Ok Wei Yan in real life is perfectly fine. He's a normal person.Very powerful and good with a spear. He is even considered smart as he devised a strategy that won a battle against Wei.And Zhuge Liang was the one who thold him that his strategy is too predictable. But yet Wei Yan insisted to try it and well...it beared labours. So his is around people like Zhao Yun and Zhang Liao.Great fighters with better-than average knowledge of military strategies.

There are zero records on him acting berserk or something like that. He's totally fine.An upright and fiercely loyal man to Shu.To me he is the most under-rated official in Shu.His biggest rank was to be the personal bodyguard of Pang Tong, which was pretty high considering that the great Zhao Yun was appointed to protect Zhuge Liang after his heroics at ChangPan Bridge. But everything changed after Zhuge Liang died.He had his reasons. He served Shu for so long and never got the credit he deserves. The life of a sad warrior...

Well...it's not shocking you think that way. Most warriors are just "all brawn no brain".And Dynasty Warriors just made him look like a lunatic.Didn't help him at all.

OK..this thread is soooo inactive!!!!Time to say something...

I found some weird info on Wikipedia about Guan Yu...I must say...it's pretty cool...haha!!!

After executing Guan Yu and reclaiming Jingzhou (tB), Sun Quan threw a feast to celebrate and commend Lü Meng, chief planner and commander of the maneuver to capture Jingzhou and Guan Yu. On the feast, however, Lü Meng was possessed by Guan Yu's spirit and seized Sun Quan. As others rushed forward to save their lord, the possessed Lü Meng swore revenge. In moments, Lü Meng collapsed onto the floor and died.

And this one...haha...this is cool...

During the last decade of the 16th century, Guan Yu was also credited with the repulse of Japanese invasion of Korea by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (called The Seven-Year War of Korea).

God Of War...he is believed even by emperors to be a blessing...cool...

Yeah...even now Taoists do pray to their God of War Lord Guan.Guan Yu must be an exceptional character in Sanguo to have such lasting effect in ppl's mind.

I have no idea!!!But it can be believed...because Lu Meng also died of illness very soon after Guan Yu died. And he died without much reason.I wasn't like Sun Ce's death by poison arrow...he just simply fell sick and died at such a young age.Maybe...just maybe he was cursed by the spirit of Guan Yu after that...

Anyway...I found something that Liu Bei said to Zhang Fei when Fei lost Xia Pi to Lu Bu...

"Wives are as clothing, but brothers are as limbs." (Ȏq@ߕ, Z@葫)"

Shhh I don't think this sentence applies to nowadays...wil make you end up with no girlfriend....

Haha yeah definitely!!!But that's now...last time back in the 100s ppl value friendship very highly,so highly that they are willing to fight to the death to save their friends.I know it sounds silly but hey!!!Where else can you find such loyalty and love from your friends?

I guess mainly way back then.

Now a days some wouldn't risk their lives like that.

how often would you see someone's friend jump in the line of fire to take a bullet to save that person.

gaaahhh I still needa read Three Kingdom.

I should do that this summer

Barely any...maybe during WWII there's some cases of ppl taking a bullet for their teammates but definitely not now...now during the 21st century. Now it's me,me and me only...how disappointing.

Three Kingdoms is a nice history...very easy to digest because the entire length of the Three Kingdoms had one famous scenario maybe every 5 years.Like the Battle of Guan Du,where Cao Cao won his old friend Yuan Shao despite being greatly outnumbered...then about 5 years later the famous battle at Changpan Bridge, where the mighty warrior Zhao Yun slay 50 generals and more than a thousand foot soldiers single-handedly.So by remembering all these scenarios it makes it easier to memorise...

the only explaination i can think is the fear of Guan Yu in Lu Meng's subconscious. He was drunk at that time and caused his subconscious overtake his body, leading to him seized Sun Quan for revenge and act as he was possessed by Guan Yu. Then maybe a heart attack (due to overdose of wine) and died ???
A scenario hehe :
Drunk --> rant --> Whipped --> Oh Crap --> Dead

no wonder in the past marriage are pre-made or being forced....
reminds me of the incident Sun Shangxiang taking Ah Dou back to Eastern Wu and Liu Bei asked Zhao Yun to rescue his son not his wife. then Sun Shangxiang never return back to Liu Bei again.....

Well that's the character of humans now for you!!!Thinking only about themselves...and even if they do have the the extra time to help others they'll just give excuses.Horrible... Bonk Bonk Bonk

Last time there's another saying as well...although that's quoted from a Japanese scholar...but it seems to apply to every country's ancient history...

"Sisters and daughters are meant for marriage proposals.Brothers and sons are meant to be used as generals or soldiers.Parents are used as hostages to pacify other kingdoms."

Sound horrible but that's the bitter truth...ancient history has such cruel methods of living compared to now...

that applys even the present... "selling" their daughters away to save themselves Grumble

sometimes it's the parents who are hostages instead, which is stupid
if you're the only son, of course your parent will save you to save their only heir... but if it was the parents who are hostages, i can just say " i will remember your sacrifice, and make a grand funeral for you" hehe
choosing the right tactics at the right time is very difficult

LOL i remember that. That's sooo messed up. But that's how it is back then. But the bro part is true. Real brothers are like a part of you. I just don't agree with the wife part. =]

well, it won't matter if you betray your kingdom or anger your ruler because if that happens, they'll kill your whole family tree bleh That's pretty crazy. I heard they still do that in North Korea... who knows?

using your ruler to kill your enemy by setting him up and let the ruler do the killing spree Applaud
this trick can also use in your job/business, using your Boss to fire the person you hate in the company Twisted

where the passion of three kingdoms gone ??

let me ask questions :
If you had a time machine, which period(s) of Three Kingdoms will you go ? But you only had 3 chances to go back and a time limit of 2 weeks staying there for each period, what will you do there. And if you have the power to change the past of that period you go... will you change it ?? (changing the past may affect, even destroying the future.)

Will you fight side by side with the hero/villan you like ?? even you may die.

And you can bring just one thing with you, what will you take ? ....don't tell me is your favourite idol pic ashamed

Wooooo...just didn't login to jdorama for a month and this thread's quiet like a ghost!!!Zzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Ok kami answering to your question...don't really know how am I going to change a person's fated death but nvm.

1st I'll return to year 207, the year that Guo Jia passed away due to illness.I'd always loved this man, whose's a brilliant strategist who I felt is a match to Sima Yi,Pang Tong and even Zhuge Liang. But alas he didn't live that long to challenge wits with those three geniuses. When Cao Cao solely blamed the loss at Chi Bi all on not having Guo Jia with him it's easy to see how much did Cao Cao longed for Guo Jia's assistance.

2nd I'll return to 197, the year of the Battle at Castle Wan.Dian Wei's death to save Cao Cao was to me an emotional event, an event that showed how men protect their master and friend even till the very last of their breath.I would definitely warn Cao Cao about how scheming Jia Xu could be and thus hope to prevent this event from happening.

3rd will be in 213, the year when Pang Tong died.As again, to have a military genius dying so young and in such a manner is a sad case.Pang Tong should have believed that myth of falling from your house just at the start of your expedition.

What I'll bring is a history book.Simple as that!!!If you know the future you can prepare yourself against it.

There's two Three Kingdoms movie coming soon...waiting anxiously.

I played the series of Romance of Three Kingdoms. The story chronicles the life of the feudal lords and their vassals, who tried to replace the decline of the Han dynasty or restore it.
